Too many gloomy threads around here, so let's have one where we can celebrate the inevitable achievements of our favourite loanee.

Carroll making his debut for West Ham today. They are 3-0 up at half time and Fulham are having a hard time coping with him.

GOAL- West Ham 1-0 Fulham (Kevin Nolan 1 min)

And wouldn't you just know it, Andy Carroll plays a pivotal role in the goal. The big striker flicks a long ball on to Ricardo Vaz Te, who in turn prods it to Kevin Nolan, and Carroll's former team-mate at Newcastle drills a crisp effort into the bottom corner. What a start for West Ham and Carroll.

GOAL - West Ham 2-0 Fulham (Winston Reid 29 mins)

Maybe Fulham were overly concerned about the presence of Andy Carroll, because they were powerless to do anything as Winston Reid surges from deep to meet a right-wing corner from Matt Taylor and power a header beyond Mark Schwarzer. West Ham now in total control.

GOAL - West Ham 3-0 Fulham (Matt Taylor, 41 mins)

Directly, this goal doesn't necessarily have that much to do with Andy Carroll. But you have to think his presence played a major role in it. Three Fulham players surround him in the box as the ball is played in, none of them deal with it convincingly and it falls to Matt Taylor, who hits his shot into the ground and it flies past Mark Schwarzer. What a first half for West Ham.

he'll do well at any team that plays a direct style.

he couldn't cut it in a footballing side and he couldn't raise his game to Liverpool standards. Even though we're outside the top 4 we still want players like suarez and torres. we paid suarez and torres money but we got michael ricketts performances.

Spot on. Fat Same has built his team around Andy and no one will be more important to them now.

Would I rather play like West Ham and fit Carroll in or play like we are now and look for the next Falcao? Hmmm. Not a tough one really.

Guest Numero Veinticinco

Have you been watching the game. I have. He flicked on a long ball which was touched by two others before the ball was in the net. The shame.

But yeah, if you lump the ball up to the big man, he'll flick it on. Same when Huth played up the front for Chelsea.

Again spot on. They're a team that need a different option as they can't get the ball on the deck and play as they don't have the talent required. Let's hope that continues and they can only see hoofing it up to the man they will gladly pay 18.5m for is to remain their game plan and let's hope we continue to realise that keeping possession of the football while moving teams about looking for spaces to exploit is a much better way of doing things!

Andy's killing Fulham's defence on his own. Hangeland looks shit scared every time the ball is in the air. Hard to phantom that such a player isn't useful to us, Even if he doesn't 'fit the system'. Especially compared to the player that didn't replace him.

He is having a brilliant game but it actually goes to prove he was never going to work here.

They lump it up to him at every opportunity and get men around him,a fat same special.Andy Carroll will touch the ball with his head more this season than with his feet and properly create more goals than score.

Teams should have the ability to mix it up, and the arial game is a big part of the english game. As is crossing balls into the box. We don't have that option this season. He's also a much better footballer than people give him credit for and has great pace and holdup play.

Still think regardless how you play, whether its counter attack or possession based, direct or short passing, you need goalscorers and people who are able to find the net on a regular basis.

So everytime the ball is in the air, he's useful but you can't realise why he wasn't useful to us? Watch how many times we put the ball in the air, specifically Joe Allen (the epitome of what Rodger's wants) and then you will understand better.

Would Andy Carroll be of much use to Barca or Atletico who play with the ball on the deck first and foremost and very rarely if ever hoof it from the back? They are the sides we are trying to emulate in their style and Andy Carroll wouldn't get a game for either of them, even off the bench.

So again Carroll isn't the answer as in a game where Fulham don't look like they got off the coach Carroll is still yet to score but everyone else it seems has.

I don't think he's the answer, but he's a much better striker to bring of the bench than fucking no one, which is what we have currently on the bench.

And Carroll just gone off injured. Ahh well.
