As if FSG give a toss who the buyer is.  It's all about the money, highest bid wins.

Ironically, I think they do give a toss. If they were more disaster capitalists, picking up distressed assets then flipping them they wouldn't give a shit. But they're eyeing prestige sports franchises now, and they'll be scrutinised as buyers too. If an owner has an attachment to his team, he won't sell to people who'll burn it in the long term. FSG have to play both roles now - prospective buyer and seller.

Well, the highest bidder will win but they’re going to want to make sure they don’t fuck the club over, it reflects terribly on an investment group if they do that, so any sporting franchise they want to buy in the future will ask questions. I wouldn’t say it’s the primary concern but it is probably a factor. And look, they’re going to want a rich cunt for more than just one reason.

A study from University of Liverpool had concluded that earlier this year Liverpool had 273m available for transfers without breaching Premier League FFP limits.

In essence according to Premier League FFP rules, FSG could also have legally overspent on transfers up to a limit of 105m in losses over the past 3 years. And covering such losses with their personal money is deemed acceptable. So when people say FSG could spend more from their pockets to fund transfers, it is legitimately allowed and not considered cheating.

So have they fucked the club over if they sell us to another set of minge bags who can't afford to buy players for us? Or will it be okay because they're not dirty arabs?

@dave u should record another podcast and explain to everybody that the reason we have not utilized the 273 million we could have is because of klopp. even if he wanted to spend any money, spending money is cheating. we should instead be trying to grow world class footballers in the fertile soil behind anfield.

I am going to assume that if you think Klopp has actively decided not to spend money that is sat there on the table waiting for him, because of "reasons", then you also think he's a dumb cunt. Because you are literally posing that he is fucking thick enough to think his squad is good enough without investment.

Apparently when Klopp said "we have bills to pay" to explain why we didn't buy any defenders during the 2021 crisis, he actually meant he felt too stressed spending the millions the club had made available to him because he hadn't sorted his leccy bill at home.

If they sell to somebody shit, they absolutely will be fucking the club over. Your last sentence is misguided. At best.

It was not aimed at you, but the overall narrative. I absolutely hate man city and newcastle and everything their owners are doing (anyone can see some of the shit I post on their respective threads), but there is a real xenophobic undercurrent to the way owners are being assessed superficially.
