He's just not a very good pundit.

indeed, thats about the total of it. Why ? read on ....

If someone say something good about us, regardless of substance = Quality Journalism

If someone says something bad about us, regardless of substance = Shoddy journalism riddled with an agenda. Thems the rules.

I like Jamie Redknapp, I think he chats shit but I also think he makes some good points but he's said nothing 'beyond the pale' IMO about LFC and he's been very respectful. I remember on YNWA someone slagged him off for complimenting Frank Lampard, the same Lampard who is Jamie's cousin.

The thing with Redknapp is that he praises and criticises us. Nothing wrong with that, but often he contradicts himself. He's stated we'll never win the league under Rafa, with rotation on many occasions. Then at teh end of last season and this, he stated we could win it. he keeps flip flopping his opinions. For me the best pundits, have a certain ideal/ideal about how the game should be played etc and are consistent in their praise and criticisms, within the framework of their ideals. Pundits who are always changing their minds lose my attention and respect as a pundit.

Yes Jamie Redknapp. The pundit who slagged Xabi Alonso for getting Fat Frank sent off last season, who then compounded it by echoing Tyler's comments that it was suspicious that Xabi had all these players sent off.

Jamie Redknapp the man who said Steven Gerrard will leave if the manager doesn't play him in the middle.

Jamie Redknapp the man who preached for so long and hard about Rafa's rotation he didn't realise there were at least two other managers who had rotated more.

Jamie Redknapp who said Steven Gerrard is not a winger or a striker he's a midfielder he's best in midfield. Steven Gerrard then wins player of the year as a right winger and another one as a striker.

Jamie Redknapp might be a lovely fella, but he's a crap pundit.

He is often very critical but equally he is often full of praise. Therefore as a pundit, for me, he comes across as too intellectually lightweight and too happy to jump on the latest bandwagon.

Exactly. Just because he may not have kissed ours (and Rafa's) arse constantly like Dicko seem to want him to and conveniently forget the times he has stuck up for us.

its nothing to do with that though John., as mentioned above, he praises and crticises us in equal measure from what Ive seen. What he lacks is a Hansen type knowledge and gravitas, that makes me listen to him when he talks, Unfortunatley, he just comes across as being a bandwagon jumper. Even Andy Gray, for all his faults, seldom contradicts himself and applies his views evenly across all teams and in all situations.

That said, he seems a nice guy and clearly has a soft spot for us. However, against that, i belive he does coaching at Chelsea, with his Cousin Lampard and for that reason he is a little tainted too.

Jamie seems a nice man and that's the main thing.

My main problem with him as a pundit is he seems so desperate to ensure he comes across as unbiased that he puts us down. That's not demanding some green tinted view from the lad just a thought out balanced one. Was he not there when moyes was a guest at anfield making comments about Heysel, i wanted someone to state 'wait a minute' and it never happened.

I remember Gray going mental about Maschers sending off btw, can't remember anyone else sticking up for him.
