Thought his goal showed exactly what we have been missing. How often do you see the CB let the ball bounce and then just either let it go through to the keeper or play it back to the keeper. But he put the afterburners on and just nicked it away from him . There are no other strikers in the league who could have done what he did today . They can rabbit on all they like about a defensive error but it was only an error because Torres is so fucking good.

nope. deadly serious. Torres is the most complete forward i've seen in a red shirt. Fowler was the best finisher i've ever seen along with batistuta but as a complete package, as much as i fucking loved Robbie, Nando has the edge.

Can't agree with you George,as much as i love Nando,Robbie, when he broke into the side was fuckin awesome,he smashed 65 LEAGUE goals in his first 3 season,even though he only started 108 games.

 

Fowler without a doubt was 2nd only to Rushie in the striking department.

I do agree with that. We have been blessed with some of the best forwards to grace the game and I am in no way taking anything away from their achievements but by god is Torres special.

Torres for me has all the tools, if he gets over the injuries the future is Torres.

 

As for his celebration, just like midweek was class. A celebration for any occasion, the fella just gets better and better.

That goal was like a combination of Fowler and Owen. The pace and the robbing the ball was Owen and the deft shot was Fowler.

 

I thought that when he dummied the ball for himself against Madrid, I just thought "vintage Fowler"

 

The way the ball went into the net I thought van der Sar had got a leg to it, but on replays it showed that it was a class finish. Did him all ends up. I didn't notice the five times celebration either but I reckon that photo is background wallpaper on the phone for a few weeks...
