Nah mate. I can see were some people are coming from with all of this there were no complaints lark. But most of the people got off after that, after he's threatening every cunt. It's ridiculous. They didn't even look much older than me either. They just looked as if "Oh, I don't like the look of that lad. He looks like he can have a go. I don't fancy that tonight."

I've seen people nicked for less. Much less. And that was a fucking disgrace last night. On Rob Styles proportions.

Did you give a statement?

Can I just relate an incident to you all to show you just how useful the Police are at protecting the public and following up incidents.

This morning 9.45 ish some fuckwit has positioned himself in the middle of a busy walkway, 50 yards one way is the Vets and the Post Office, 50 yards the other is the local shop and the pharmacy.

My mate drops me off, he cant park as all the spaces are full. I go the Chemist, get my tablets, pop into the shop, come out.

I walk over the side of the Chinese takeaway and wait. I can see some shitbag sitting bang in the middle of the walkway and I can also see from the body language of people walking by, including women with children that they've been verbally abused.

There's a car park about 100 yards away, opposite the Post Office, where I think, chances are my mate has gone to park.

I walk past this twat and he verbally abused me, yeah ok, whatever, see my mate isn't parked there, walk back, twat stands up and verbally abuses me again, so I ask him "would you be addressing me good sir?" or words similar, he comes after me, I push him back, spin him round and mention to him that going away might be a good idea.

He then hits me with a hammer.

A woman with a child is a few yards away and shouts "he's got a hammer! " and quite rightly ushers her child away. She asks me if I'm OK....yes I am. I'm not injured.

I then go back to the shop to say to the owner, tell anyone who comes in here not to go that way as there's an idiot abusing people both verbally and physically.

I get home. Phone the Police, tell them that 10 minutes ago the fuckwit was still in situ and he's know round the area.

I get a phone call at just after 10.30 saying that Officers have been to the scene and couldn't locate the suspect.

No mention of checking the local shops, asking anyone or checking any of the 5 local businesses that will all have CCTV.

A couple of hours ago, I get a follow up call asking me if I'm either injured or traumatised and then telling me that the investigation is closed because officers went out at 10.30, couldn't locate the suspect and he hasn't been since.

When I went into the shop to tell the fella, he asked me does he look like (description) ? I say yeah, that sounds like him, the owners says "he comes here now and again and threatens people and causes trouble".

So, aren't I really fucking glad I reported an idiot brandishing a hammer in a public place in front of families and children on a busy walkway.

Response...."we wen't there, had a look, couldn't see him, so that's it"

Watched this last night. Shocking and disturbing. Not at all good from police and social services. I remember the police painting this as a straightforward missing person case. Its especially terrible for the Gaia's twin sister who's understandably haunted by what her poor sister went through.

Makes me wonder if its time to for rape to carry the same sentence/punishment as murder.

Sorry you’ve had that happen to you mate.

Sorry to seemingly give it the contrary cunt act here, but surely if someone had rang there and then saying a man is abusing passers by and has just attacked someone with a hammer, then waited for the police, the response would have been different as it was an active attack/situation and they would be able to speak to the people who saw it. They would also have known where the guy went, as the vigilance to him by the group nearby would have been high.

We all know how stretched our public services are due to all the cuts and funding withdrawals over the last 13 years, so someone calling and saying that something happened 10 minutes ago, in a different place than where they are calling from, meaning it wasn’t urgent enough to stop them making  their way home and calling it in, isn’t going to evoke the most extreme police response. Especially if they got there, couldn’t find him, and asked some people who would be there 20 minutes after the fella had fucked off potentially.

What are they then meant to do at that point? They were most probably under pressure to arrive at the next call due to the cuts mentioned and had fuck all to go off apart from your description of someone who isn’t there.

The tories have decimated their numbers, coverage, funding and planning, same with the NHS. If the calls they receive don’t stress urgency, they won’t act with urgency.

I'm sorry, maybe I am reading this wrong? You got hit by a hammer then went in to a shop to tell people theres a dangerous loon about then went home and called the police. Why didn't you call them straightaway or get the shop to? Why wait? Did you call 999 or 101?
