Anderson had been due to speak at the event in Lisbon, Portugal, as she promoted her new soft drink brand, G Spot.

 

After she and G Spot CEO Rebekah Hall pulled out as speakers at the summit last week, a spokesperson said: “We made the decision to withdraw because we recognise that the brands’ values do not align.”

Following criticism of her move, Ms Anderson, who also stars in Netflix’s Sex Education, said she “doesn’t want there to be any misinterpretation”.

“So let me be clear. ALL lives are valuable. No one life is more or less valuable than another,” The Fall and The Crown actor wrote on Twitter/X.”

She added: “We must speak up to demand the protection of all innocent civilian lives and we must speak out against terrorism.

“The two are not mutually exclusive.”

 

So she pulled out of a conference because of a tweet which expressed the similar sentiments she went on to express herself.
