  1. 1. Should we sign him?

I don't really care if we miss out on him. If we do it'll be because someone else offered him, Benfica, Mendes or all three more money than we did. The finances are already fucking massive on this deal, it's much more of a gamble than we usually take, so if someone's upped the stakes I'd rather we move onto the next target than commit even more to this one.

I’ll massively care if we miss out on him as Klopp clearly thinks he’s something very special if he’s willing to pay that much.

I think the Tchouameni deal may have played a part in us making the move.

I think we'd have considered him out of our price range while we were still looking to sign the frenchman but that our alternative midfield targets were significantly cheaper which allowed us to divert funds.

City fans seem to think this means we're bigger spenders than them and we get an easy ride by comparison, they don't seem to get the concept of cumulative spending, money received and whatnot.

The only teams that don’t discuss net spend are the ones spending a fortune and winning or spending a fortune and just avoiding relegation. Odd that.

The fees being talked about sort of scare me.

As much faith as I have in Klopp and the transfer bods, I can't help worrying we're due a steaming Pogba.

If he fails, the media narrative will be bad because of his fee. With his wages not being mega high, I'm not sure the overall cost will be that crazy, though. Of course, no one will mention that, but still.

The narrative will be bad every time he scores less than Haaland in a game.

We can't control that though so as long as we're winning games and he contributes to that who cares.
