I remember about 4 it 5 years ago when.spurs still had bale and pottenchino had made them into a top 4 outfit. We always had great games against them, whatever you say about spurs they always play good footy, and they seemed about 1 or 2 players away from that final step.

Now look at them

Crackers.

Got pally with a few Spurs fans on a cruise in early 2019 , and there was a genuine argument about who had the brighter future and manager. Obviously wasn't to know at the time that we would  beat them in the CL Final a few months later  and their trajectory would be down and down from then.

I don’t think you do remember that. Bale left 8 years ago and before Poch was the manager.

I thought bale was still there when. Poch came in?

Was it under Redknapp then?

I remember there were a few monumental games at Anfield

You mean the good old days of Skrtel absolutely clattering him and getting away with, at most, a yellow (and Adams' horror tackle)? That was all pre-Poch.

Easily.  This thing called strength in depth comes in handy.

They scored their 2nd and 3rd with a front 4 of Loftus-Cheek, Barkley, Hudson-Odoi and Havertz.

I know they were playing fuck all but they are extremely well coached and are very hard to break down. They had Lukaku, Werner, Pulisic, Mount, Ziyech, Kante, Kovacic either on the bench or unavailable. They will be very hard to stop.
