Eight schools in Liverpool have now reported positive cases of covid.

It's an unstoppable tide, it's daft to think that it is, especially given the fact a lot of people have just been on holiday and probably brought it back with them to the city from wherever the fuck.

People really have two choices, compromise the kids' educations - quite badly I imagine, until a cure is found or just try and crack on.

Just seen this...

Another person I know has had his kid sent home from school (in Liverpool) for 14 days but been told by his work he’s not allowed to take time off and he needs to take a test today. Went on this morning and only place is Aberystwyth so he’s had to drive there. What the fuck is going on?

I might be being a bit dense here so please let me know, but where did governments get the data from for kids not spreading the virus in schools when they weren't in schools in any large numbers since the lockdown started?

I must be missing something for declarations like this to have been made.

Think you’ve pretty much answered your own question there.

No kids = no infections = no infections in schools = schools are safe = SEND THEM BACK!

I seen this on Twitter this morning. Weird because they supposedly have a shit ton of unused testing capacity every day yet they ran out of tests in the North East and now this.

Seen someone referred to a testing station in Birmingham the other day from Dorset as well.

And interestingly it's just been on the news tests have been pretty flat since June, so my guess is they got away with lying about how much excess capacity there is and as soon as it's ticked up a bit, it's all gone to shit.

Well there you have it. Fucking corrupt cunts. And they'll no doubt be paying their mates for providing capacity for 370000 when they can't even reach half that.

Eight teachers tested positive at my kids school now. 90+ kids told to isolate for 14 days. School closed again tomorrow with a vague statement saying that they’ll try to get some year groups in ASAP. Years 9 and 11 haven’t had the chance to go back at all, they were meant to start today. Absolute shit show.

One day we had with all our kids back at school. One fucking day.

It's fucking shocking isn't it? I saw on the news before the inquest has started into the MEN bombing. It seems almost insignificant now compared to the death we've seen this year and how much of that death is down to government incompetence and greed?  I bet more than 22 deaths.

It's tight on the teachers all this stuff, the notion of a school leadership having to brainstorm how to teach in a pandemic without compromising educations or child welfare in crazy.

When you see specimens of the calibre of Gavin Williamson and Johnson at the helm, no matter how dumb people are, they must surely get to the point where they begin to realise that political loyalty or views on things like Brexit can't excuse voting for people like this and not expecting the shit show we're getting.

The boys school have decided to not socially distance in classrooms.

If one child comes down with it all 30 are sent home for 2 weeks.

Don't blame them. I think the use of socially distancing to contain the virus has had no effect what so ever. It's a load of fucking bollocks.

Do people think there is any weight to the theory that the reason admissions and deaths are remaining stable/dropping despite the undoubted rise in cases is due to mask wearing/social distancing leading to a lower viral load meaning milder symptoms?

Or is it a just due to younger people driving it, which will undoubtedly spread to more vulnerable groups and a natural lag meaning admissions/deaths will increase again in a few weeks?

No idea, but I don't subscribe to the idea that it's only young people driving it as that's not what I'm seeing when I go out, don't know about you. Whenever I've done the help out to eat out business it's been middle aged and older mostly, I don't know anyone who's shielding either.
