Welcome to the new and improved TLW!

Some of you may experience issues logging in and will get an 'incorrect password' error. Don't worry, you haven't typed it in wrong and your password hasn't been changed. You will need to reset it though in order to log in. Click the reset password link and you will receive an email with your new temporary password. Once logged in, you need to choose a new password (or restore to your old one) otherwise you will be locked out again.

If you have an out of date email address linked to your account, then you won't receive the new password. If that's the case then you'll need to email me (dave @liverpoolway.co.uk) or send me a tweet @theliverpoolway and I'll update your password manually.

Any other problems or questions just let me know.

Thanks

Dave

It should be obligatory if you have those on.

Some alcy got on at New Strand the other week and was eyeing up mine. When i stared back he said "where did you get yer trabs from?"

So i said "Size"

and he replied "doesn't matter, where did you get yer trabs from?"

I got off the train then.

Do you mean the Strand only wools would call it New Strand.

Well, being from the South end of Liverpool, i naturally avoided Bootle for years (i only found out there was a place called Orrell Park when i was 23), but sadly having to work there now, i refuse to conform to whatever the one toothed, inbred locals call it.

In fact, i should have said "Bootle New Strand" or "hell" to give it it's full title.

i'm from town myself and it's always been know as the Strand not just by the locals.

As i said, i didn't venture North of Allerton (other than going in to town) for years, I was aware that the shopping centre was called "The Strand", but i've never thought about the train station being called "The Strand", because it isn't.

Did it change it's name or something? As i still can't get my head around "South Liverpool Parkway" instead of good old "Allerton" station.

That's what it is people say getting off or on at Strand as it's associated with the shops.

When the shops where built in the 60/70's I think, the shop where called Bootle new strand so the station must have took the name and no one uses the new when the talk about the Strand.I might be wrong.

Check the Watch thread.

Waiting for her to finish in the dentist. Note the sambas. More importantly however, note the fucking gorgeous receptionist who can let me root her canal any-day of the fucking week

I need some new smart new trainers that I can wear on informal nights out and such. Usually wear converse but Adidas trainers are mint.

Anyone been to the Adidas Spezial exhibition by Gary Aspden that's on in Manchester at the minute? I'm going to try and get there later this week.

Went today with the wife. Not my thing but the wife said to me " ĺee. I need a cig and a line " her way of saying she's in nirvana.

I hate this thread. Reminds me off all the pairs of Adidas I want, but don't have.

Good rule of thumb, if you know a lad in his 20s or 30s that doesn't have a pair of Adidas, he's probably a bit of a wrongun.

I've got a set of these, bit weather-beaten these days:

Not everyone cup's of tea in colour, but I loved the clean cut of the shape and just fancied something different.

I've shelled a horrifying amount of cash on Adidas trainers over the years.  Possibly my favourite were the Metal Mickey Forest Hills:

Also had these Superstars, produced for some anniversary or other.

On reflection, I've owned some horrendously lairy trainers.  Obviously had plenty of normal coloured Sambas, Gazelles, Stan Smiths, miscellaneous shell-toes, etc.

Anyone see that story about that bloke in South America that had a stash of vintage Adidas trainers in his store and he won't sell them if he doesn't feel like it? Treasure trove of classic shoes.
