Skipper appeared to sustain an injury during an aerial challenge and could now be a doubt for the crunch clash with Liverpool.

Vincent Kompany could be a doubt for City's crucial title clash with Liverpool after limping out of training on Saturday.

The Belgian appeared to land heavily after challenging for a header, and had to be carried away from the pitch by his team-mates.

He could now miss out on the huge meeting with Brendan Rodgers' side at Anfield on Sunday.

City are hoping to wrestle control of the Premier League title race from the hosts with either a draw or a win on Merseyside.

But their chances of doing so will be hit by any potential absence of their influential skipper.
