Building a brand new stadium that will still be a smaller capacity than ours and after the new Annie Road gets finished it will be 8k less.

Our heads have fallen off though.

You know they will whinge if England ever hosts the World Cup or the Euros and Anfield gets chosen as the stadium to represent the city. They moaned about it during Euro 96 simply because Goodison held games in 1966.

It's mad the way they bang on about 1966; I'd genuinely forgotten that we hosted games in 1996 and I attended two of them.

Looking on facebook before and MOTD did an article on the new ground. They are all under the impression that they built Anfield into an 8,000 capacity stadium.

Even though they never owned it and it already existed when they played on an empty field in Stanley Park.

He's your classic Evertonian bellend. Talks utter shit then when everyone has a go at him he just says he was winding people up.

Strategic dominance down by the docks like it's the middle ages and the city will get invaded.

Goodison is probably closer to the city centre than the bramley Moor Dock. The whole area past Costco is a pain in the arse. They are welcome to it. A strategic advantage I've no idea what that means, Liverpool are currently in one of the most famous football stadiums on the planet yet still the only advantages grounds get you apart from more seats are if they are in London. As for the weird the City is ours thing it's nonsense no matter where you are are what you buy we are the city's namesake club, We are Liverpool and you are Everton.  Their arrogance after 25 years of absolute fuck all is astounding, imagine if they actually did achieve something. For now they are just joining a list of clubs that have new stadiums. They are absolutely giddy because it's near water seems to be the jist of it.  Good luck to the blues I know who are happy just so they can see the game properly.

Still don’t understand how anyone thinks a nice shiny stadium helps anyone. No player joins because of a nice stadium, same re getting new fans.

It’s like me building a lovely concert hall and then having my keen but musically talentless kid as the act and expecting her to be more successful than Ed Sheeran.

This is what I dont get about them the way they are so arrogant, anyone listening to their fans would think they are on Barcelona or Real Madrid's level and have just had a bit of bad luck recently. Basically all they have done recently is thrive off our failings or partake in mental gymnastics to belittle our achievements.

They have done nothing for 26 years apart from get to one FA cup final. Prior to that they had two successful seasons in the 1980s after winning nothing since 1970. We have probably won as many trophies since 2000 as they have since 1878. Yet some of them still believe that they are a bigger club than us or that they have a larger local fanbase despite their own public consultation for their stadium stating otherwise.

But now for some reason we are all sulking because they have had planning permission granted for a new stadium. A stadium that is still smaller than our current capacity and will be smaller again when it is expanded to 61,000.

Anfield is famous all around the world and being a stadium that most fans from this country and others want to visit. The only other grounds in England that have a similar profile are Wembley and Old Trafford. They really are a deluded bunch.
