That's a bit harsh on the UN...

The UN is a ship of fools. Just look at Rwanda.

Toothless and constrained by security council vetoes means nothing gets done until enough people are slaughtered.

1990- Yugoslavia. Bit too close to Europe, better get some peacekeepers there. Not effective, get NATO to identify a bad guy ( Serbia) and bomb the shite out of them.

1994- Rwanda. landlocked, not much use to anyone, wait until it reaches 800,000 or they tire of hacking each other to bits.

Unicef is nothing more than an agency to make us feel better...look at those protein bars, those crates with a big UNICEF logo, fucking hell, branded better than Coca Cola. Here is an idea for the world food programme--- grow shite that people actually eat in those countries instead of stuff to sell to other countries.

How do you kill 600 Gazan's? The price? 3 kidnapped and killed Israeli teens who were fucking hitchhiking in the West Bank. Who the fuck would hitchhike in the West Bank? I would't fucking hitchhike in Luxembourg yet alone a disputed territory where captured Israeli's are worth a thousand prisoners.

The Canadian Human Rights Museum is set to open in Winnipeg soon, it should be interesting because much of the impetus and funding came from the Jewish community.

I think your reading of history is horribly one-sided. It fits in well with the rest of the thread, to be fair.

But history is history, and perhaps you should focus on the future rather than the past.

it's difficult for most of us to ignore the present.

Seriously, if he could bring a stop to the crimes against humanity perpetrated by Israel, he'd quickly move from zero to hero in my eyes.

He is doing the same shit himself in Chechneya. That before you start looking into the likelihood that he was involved in blowing up his own people and laying the blame on terrorists.

In 2005 the death toll was listed at around 160 thousand

I know.  I was being flippant in my zero to hero remark.  My serious point was in trying to establish someone who could force Israel to stop the holocaust.

Looks a lot like my old schoolmate's dad. They had a huge four storey house but it was freezing. Caught him sneaking into the room a couple of us were staying in downstairs once and he turned the gas fire off. Woke up blue.

My brother in law was like that, thermostat set to 14 C in the fucking winter. Cheap bastard.

and he killed my sister's cat Rudy because the fucking cat was cold and used to lay on the heating vent and soak up all the warm air. Poor fucker just collapsed on the porch one day and my sister had him autopsied and he was full of cancer which I reckon was from laying on that vent.

His fucking kids used to try and push the cat off the vent when they were toddlers to get ear the heat but the. mad bastard of a cat would nip and hiss at them.

He also bit my Mum when she wouldn't feed him, took a chunk out of her calf.

Just like your reading of Islam is horribly one sided.

The past of Israel mirrors it's present and future. They had no qualms about murdering women and children back then either.

In stark contrast to your home country of Canada, which was formed with the total approval of those people already living there...

Confusing us with America and Manifest Destiny.

Royal Proclamation of 1763. stated that land rights can only be extinguished by treaties. There are numbered treaties that lay out the relationship between native peoples and the British Crown, later the Canadian government.

However, these treaties were not properly honoured or interpreted to suit the white settlers if the day. But today in Canada we have Nunavut, a territory of 7 million sq. km governed by locals, James Bay Treaty. were the Cree of Northern Quebec have control over hydro electric power, and so on.

The biggest shame, which Canada admits to and provided compensation to, was the Residential Schools were Indian children were taken and sent to learn the white mans ways. And these schools were run by. the Anglican and Catholic churches. So you know what went on.

About a billion dollars were set aside to provide compensation.

Today, you cannot get a pipeline built, access forests, or begin mining on traditional lands without first consulting with and getting permission from The local native peoples. Our courts have continually found in favour of the native peoples.

Sadly, we have our own Cameron and he is a knob.

And, Stronts reverts to a typical Israeli diversionary tactic, like he's done before.

What about Syria? But he chose Canada this time instead.

Set up a Canada thread?

And, you directly addressed me to say let's ignore the past and look to the future......then went on to discuss Canada's past!

You couldn't make this shit up.

Again, this is a post about Israel and the troubles in that region. About a country whose actions become more and more disgraceful by the day.

Let's not try and sidetrack the thread away from that?

Moreover, i got white people problems as Its nice out and I want to lounge out back but I have to go to the airport to send a parcel of hair dye and shampoo to the ex.

Note to any Zionists in the area: the garden shed has a push mower, some charcoal, a few trawls, and a tool box. There are no rockets, tunnel entrances leading to the kosher section of the Supermarket. I expect it to still be there when I get back.

Some frightening opinions in this thread.

Each time this starts up, it's due to Palestinians launching rockets at Israeli civilians.  Does Israel not have a right to defend themselves just as England would? Furthermore, England is surrounded by other friendly, on the way to socialism, countries.  Israel is surroudned by, and living with in their own state, people who vow their only goal is to wipe the Jews from the planet.

I also like how the press covers all the protests for the Palies in cities around the world.  What they frequently conveniently forget to add is the part about chants like "Gas the Jews" and "Kill all Jews".  That happened in Paris this week, folks.  A nice day drive down from your very own country, where it has happened before.

And lastly, the idea the the press is pro-Israeli is arguably the most shocking opinion in this entire thread filled with shocking opinions.

Can't for the life of me understand how any American can think the press here is anything but Pro-Israel. Lately more and more in the press have been calling it a little less lop-sided sure but from what I've seen there's always a caveat so it turns out more of an "Well the Palestinian people do have a point or two BUT Hamas is a terrorist organization (and to be fair I would agree that it is, I just disagree that they're representative of all Palestinian people) so fuck that shit" argument than anything else.
