Ignoring, for a moment, our horrendous situation. I have seen it mentioned on a few of the threads about the state of Uniteds finances and I just wondered how many would like to see them go bankrupt and fold completely. I don't want that to happen. I am happy to see them weakened and struggle, but not go completely.

No, if a footballing institution goes under due to cunt's like ours syphoning money out of the game without actually putting anything back in is nothing short of disgraceful.

As much as I hate them it would be a sad day for football if it happened.

Something seriously needs to be done by Uefa and Fifa to stop this continuing.

No way- we need someone to hate other than the blue noses. Everton are not big enough to take all of our wrath. This is why we have the mancks and Whisky nose. Seeing them struggle as much as us is very satisfying indeed.

Agreed - hating them is my anger management. If I need to vent any sort of frustration I think of them muppets.

I don't want to see united go tits up but it's going to take either one of the big 4 or more than 1 mid table prem teams to go into administration before the FA and UEFA step in to work out how to save football.

I find this unbelievable in the current global financial cockup as almost all other areas of sport have made massive changes to keep the sports finacially viable. From F1 to moto GP cost cutting measures have and are being implimented to make sure they survive, yet football carries on with it's boom time mentallity which is being magnified by poor ownership skills for certain clubs and teams being bought by multi billionaires that are driving up transfer fees.

Foriegn player limits, transer fee caps and wage caps have gone from being desirable to an absolute must. No player is worth £80m for however long their contract is, they can't bring that amount of return to a club on their own and that is excluding rediculas transfer bonuses and astrinomical wage deals on top. It really is time football had a serious look at itself and changed it's habits, for the fans, for the continued stability of the clubs and most importantly for football.

Voted no , although i would like the mongs to shit bricks and struggle for a while.

Besides it would never happen , in the same way it wouldn't happen to Real Madrid or Barca . They are the darlings of european football and any of their potential collapses would bring rule changes and a shifting of the goal posts from either uefa or the governments to save them.

I voted 'yes', but their situation gives me no pleasure at all, because we're equally as fucked.

Speaking from just a purely footballing perspective, it sickens me how the two greatest clubs in this country are in such danger, when we both, in fact, should be as secure as Barca and Real.

Fucking yes, the horrible cunts.

I would love to see an alternative "it's a wonderful life" where demento send almost mad by the prospect of his beloved club going bankrupt, runs off in the snow to salford quays to throw himself in the water.

An angel appears and bacon face kicks him in the water, but the angel climbs out and and shows bacon face what his club would have been like had he never been born.

Now in a world where he never existed he goes back to OT on a match night. He walks through the trophy room and there is one European cup. "One fucking cup! We won three!" "Ah yes" says the angel "But without your pact with the devil, you didn't spawn those winning goals in the balmy night in Barcelona. Without your sway with the FA and your power over referees this team is a far different team than the one you ran. They simply never qualified for the Champions League after that. In fact their manager Souness took utd down a league and they never recovered."

"But, But look" says demento, pointing at the pitch "There's gary neville, micheal owen, darren fletcher even nani." "Ah yes" says the angel "But they're championship level players, anyone can see that. They were jut too scared to say it when you where here."

Bacon face looks at the angel and almost whispering says "Liverpool, tell me about Liverpool" The angel spreads his arms and reveals 7 European Cups, 8 Premierships and 4 FA Cups. "NOOOOOOOO!" screams funguson, "Take me back, take me back! I want to live, I want to live"

Suddenly he's back at the quay, with the angel. The snow is falling again. Funguson looks closely at the angel, "you look familiar, I can't quite place it. Hang on, you're Bill Shankly" The angel smiles and puts a hand on demento's shoulder. "Aye that's right son, now get in the water you cunt" and kicks the twat into the quay.

While I don't think it is quite as good as the original, I would like to see it. But as yet I have no offers.

No for me. I think after 1 season of not playing them we'd all start to miss playing them with the build up and all that. To be fair, it's very rare I actually get to enjoy a game because neither team usually has more then a 1 goal lead going into the last minute, so probably Old Trafford last year was one of the few times when I really got to enjoy the last 10 mins of a Manc game.

The club that embraced comercialisation so much so that they dropped the word football club from their crest. The club that introduced selling duvets, toothpaste and wine to the football world. That made preseason tours to Mayasia and Korea compulsory. I'd love it if they went under due to making a balls of things financially. Couldn't happen to a nicer bunch.

I'd like nothing better than to see UTD get it wrong on the pitch, see their attendances drop and struggle financially because of it. Maybe even drop down a division or two. As much as we hate them it's one of the biggest rivalries in world football and without the rivalry football just wouldn't be the same.

If they go bankrupt then you can guarantee we'll go with them.

I've voted no because if we do get back to the top of the pile I want them to be there to suffer. Regardless of the intense rivalry they have managed to get themselves a period of dominance within there own means by building a bigger stadium, staying loyal to a manager they believed in and bringing through a group of young players that allowed them to focus on quality, not quantity for nigh on 15 years. All of those are too there credit if i am honest.

I do hope they suffer and fall by the wayside but not disappear because losing them, just like if we were to disappear would mean the league losing a lot of appeal. If anyone was to disappear I would nominate Chelsea and City as they are in the process of fucking the league over whilst being unsustainable in their own right.
