Benitez Not Interested in Ruud

I`ve been getting a lot of emails asking about Liverpool`s reported interest in Ruud Van Nistelrooy. I can tell you that Rafa Benitez is not interested in signing the Dutchman from Real Madrid because - while the former United striker`s quality has never been questioned - there are major doubts over his fitness.

With limited funds, the Liverpool coach would rather focus on another kind of player and there is little point over the longer term in placing obstacles in the way of Ngog`s progress: particularly at a time when he is starting to show glimpses of the player we all hoped he may become. Furthermore, Liverpool could not accommodate both Torres and Van Nistelrooy in the same starting eleven and the priority is to get the most out of the Spanish striker`s current from and keep him playing regularly.

In fact, Benitez is quite fed up with the stories linking Liverpool with Ruud and, despite the press speculation and despite the fact Ruud could leave Madrid for free as his contract finishes in the summer, it can be said that the target for January is quite different. If Dossena (At Madrid want him, plus teams in Italy and Germany), Voronin or Degen can be sold, then will have greater room for manoeuvre in their pursuit of another target.

That would explain why we never spent £20m on Aquilini.

Rafael Benítez hopes to finalise a six-month loan of Maxi Rodriguez from Atlético Madrid. The winger wants more first-team football to assure his place in the Argentina World Cup squad.

Liverpool seem set to free up capital by offloading the underperforming Andriy Voronin and his hefty salary.

Other possible loan targets for Liverpool are the Real Madrid and Holland team-mates Rafael van der Vaart and Ruud van Nistelrooy, although it is unlikely Liverpool will want to foot the striker's full wage bill for a stint at Anfield.

Only a moron would rule him out as back up, mind you Owen went to United for fuck all.

Liverpool boss Rafa Benitez in bid to sign Ruud Van Nistelrooy on loan from Real Madrid | Mail Online

Van Nistelrooy, 33, is keen to head to Anfield to prove his fitness for Holland ahead of next summer’s World Cup.

He is also refusing to agree to Real Madrid’s demands to pay the striker’s £100,000-a-week wages for the rest of the season if he joins on loan.

Rafa is off his head. Imagine the boost to our wage bill, a few more on RVN wages and world domination is ours.

What's the point of having him here? He's an infection.

You have to ask the manager, he was the one who brought him here at the first time, then the second time as well even if we had offers for him.

And after he misses a chance to save the same managers arse in the CL he tells him his time at Anfield is over and tells him he is not wanted at Melwood and can find another club if he wants.

Some superb decision making from our manager there dont you think?

Its not Voronins fault he has got time off, its not Voronins fault he was not sold in the summer and its not Voronins fault we signed him in the first place.

If not Rafa wanted to make too much of a profit from his sale he would be long gone by now and we would have saved the money we use on his at least £50.000 a week wages.

You were all for the signing of Voronin and his silky skills weren't you?

Everything I've read has been about clubs not being able to afford his wages not his transfer fee.
