Living in London...

I've been offered a job down south today and I'm 90% sure I'm going to take it. It's a great opportunity... too good to turn down, regardless of my reluctance to take the plunge in London and to leave Liverpool.

So, where do I live? I'm looking for something quiet / studenty, quite safe and in zone two, decent transport links and no more than about £600 a month in rent...

Any suggestions. Christian reckons New Cross, that kinda way, South of the water... any suggestions or even any rooms to let would be very welcome indeed...

Thanks

With a house shared £600, you should be able to get somewhere decent.

But it depends where you're travelling to in the morning. Obviosuly west London is more expensive but I always quite liked my mates gaffs in Richmond, Putney and Chiswick. Decent links into Waterloo from there too.

Acton is okay but a bit "Aussie Mate".

Either way have a blast.

edit: Clapham and Wimbledon are good too.

Come to Cricklewood and we can be bestest buddies!

You can AC Slater any time you like on my bog.

Hmmm. You shouldn't be short of choice really, I believe there's a lot on offer in the rental market. Depends where you're working I guess and how you like to get about.

Ive just moved to Wembley Park and I love it. Managed to get a really good deal on my flat - its small but on a really quaint road and the building and grounds are well maintained. Only paying £625.00, plus i've said its just me so it's 25% discount on my Council Tax so im not actually paying much more than when I was in Bucks.

How long does it take for you to get to Baker St from Wembley, Gazelle?

2 stops about 20 minutes mate.. then a further 7/8 minutes and im at kings cross.. my commute now takes me 45 minutes and costs me £33 per week, as opposed to the 2 hour commute at £83 per week... happy days.
