Doesn't look that good. The original had great writing and a great cast. Granted, at the outset that might not have been immediately apparent either but both developed into such along the way, and that could happen here, but it looks more likely to become the Joey to Friends - a familiar and key character displaced from a familiar setting and lacking chemistry with new characters.

That looks shit!

It looks like any generic US sitcom, lacking the charm, wit and wisdom of the original show.   And the fuck happened to Charlotte? That ending of the original series was brilliant. Suffice to say this will be watched out of (morbid) curiosity and then forgotten about until it’s inevitable cancellation.

It just looks really forced, which was never the case with the old series.

Never go back!

That's definitely how I saw it. They bottled lighting with Frasier following on from Cheers.  Doesn't appear they've been able to do it again.

frasier isn’t a naturally likeable man. His flaws are not ones you’re naturally sympathetic to, and so it needs the right cast of supporting characters around him to put you on his side at all.

you can be sympathetic to a man that is frustrated by his live in father. You can be sympathetic to his failings when they are shared alongside sibling rivalry with his brother.

he’s still someone you’re unlikely to naturally like, but you like him more when someone very normal and likeable such as Roz likes him.

his difficult ex wife shows up just enough to sprinkle that sympathy into the character too, but he remains broadly arrogant and self centred enough that he remains someone you can enjoy seeing trip up.

everything about the programme frasier is perfectly balanced, and the character frasier is only successful because of it.

that raider doesn’t look like it’s going to have what this needs. But I’ll try it.

The Guardian gave it a glowing review (4/5) and stated it started poorly but gets stronger and stronger.

Episode 1 is cack

Episode 2 is much better but nowhere near classic Frasier standards

The Martin character is filled by his son, Daphne by the live in friend of his son, and the role of Niles is played by the son of Niles.
