I do occasionally make one for old times sake but I use chicken or beef steak.

I tend to go old school. Fattiest mince I can buy or failing that chicken thighs. Lamb mince is ace but a bit overpriced for reminiscence experience.

The wife occasionally does a "Grandma special" from her childhood. Mashed potatoes with two poached eggs and grated cheese on top. Stick it under the grill for two minutes and bonza.

 

As a quick lunch I love a cheese microwavey. Cheap white bread, cheddar, bang it in the microwave. Salt and vinegar crisps on the side.
