I think it would be a shrewd signing we don't have enough forward depth IMO - and with Firmino coming towards end of his career, Diaz and Jota with serious injuries (does anyone really think Diaz can just come back after about 6 months with such injuries out and be at it?) it offers us needed options.

Not convinced per se by Gakpo, I’m sure we’ve done our homework. 
 

Jota and Diaz being out is shite. Im sure he’ll be better than Ox or Cavalho.

In 2022 we've lost Mane, Origi and Minamino and replaced then with Diaz, Nunez and Gakpo. 

It seems like Gakpo is capable of playing wide left or through the middle so he can play on the left until Diaz is back, then move in to the middle next season, possibly in place of Firmino.
