It's amazing how the nation seems hell bent on caring about our sovereignty and yet turned out in lesser numbers for our own General Election!

A kick up the arse is understandable, but it feels like we're kicking our own arses!

It's not amazing at all, people don't think they can make a difference in a general election especially if it's a safe seat and their vote is for an opposition candidate. In this referendum their individual vote does count, so they made the effort.

I don't believe for a moment that that is the motivation.

I think people have been motivated by anti immigration rhetoric and some sense of 'giving the EU a bloody nose'.

If they have such little faith in our domestic voting system, why the hell are they voting for more of it?

Well I'm not going to discus the motivation for what they voted for, but I do believe the thought that their vote counted spurred them on to vote.
