Stuck between these two and need the GF's opinion.

Need them for doing some holiday city break walking but would also like to wear them from time to time as a 36 year old man and not look like a dick.

The ZX Racers shit all over the others. I'm not sure how comfortable they would be for doing loads of walking in though. Retro Adidas don't score too highly on that front, in my opinion. I'd recommend New Balance

- 670, 576 or 575 - which are a lot more comfortable. Check out Size online and endclothing.com

for bargains, depending on what size you are.

New Balance trainers are for Cockneys and people who listen to Frampton Comes Alive whilst soiling themselves.

New Balance trainees, unlike the football kits, are boss. I hardly ever saw anyone wearing them when I lived in London, it was all Air Max and stuff.

Nike Air Max are for Shoreditch hipsters and mummy's boys who watch re-runs of Gossip Girl with a giant tub of ice cream.

Some Adidas trainees are rimless, as are Some of it is, some of it isn't.

Unfortunately, it's been a long time since Adidas made good quality stuff.

I agree to sone extent but their trainers are timeless and they make some nice Hoodies but I dont wear their t-shirts or anything else.

You are right in fairness. I have a couple pairs of Bamba and a pair of Beckenbauer and they are quite plastic compared to some of the older shoes I have.

My SL72s rub the bone on the side of my foot something awful. I don't find many modern Adidas trainers that comfortable, my Beckenbauers are probably the best.

My Nike Cortez vinyls are like walking on air and my Converse are also super comfortable. I think Adidas trainers are too narrow most of the time, means I have to have a size a larger size than I would in everything else.
