Xbox 360 Advice

Good burghers of the forum, I am hoping that you can help me with some advice, as I know the square root of fuck all about game consoles.

You may or may not have gleaned from my musings elsewhere, that I am a little on the chubby side. And by a chubby I mean enormous - morbidly obese. This is worrying me as I move into later life, particularly as I used to be reasonably fit within recent memory.

While I'm not usually body-sensitive in public when it comes to everyday life - I've had my fair share of fat-shaming abuse on the street, which goes in one ear and out the other - when it comes to working out that changes.

To that end, I want to try and drop a bit of weight at home before I venture into the real world (it's that or crawl out of bed at 5am to avoid an audience). So I've decided to get an Xbox 360, Kinect, and some fitness games. Given an Xbox 360 can be purchased relatively cheaply these days, I was wondering what sort of set up I'd need.

I'm not a gamer and have no interest in either single player games or online teamwork. This is strictly a means to an end deal.  Can anyone recommend a suitable console and GB setup?

Thanks in anticipation of your assistance.

Sounds like a good plan, but before you spend money on that, I have heard some great things about some free fitness apps, such as freeletics:

Worth a pop. You can even try them out while making your mind up about the xbox 360.

Good luck :-)

Also, I used to use MyFitnessPal (for about 5 years) and logged everything I ate. Through that awareness I have developed a much healthier diet and don't use it any more but I would go back to it if needed.

If you're looking for a cheap one on eBay and don't mind waiting for auctions to end then I would try a search for "Xbox 360", filter results to auction only, filter again to within 50 miles of your postcode using the options on the left of the screen (or whichever distance you're happy to drive) and then searching for "collection only" items. Collection only auctions tend to attract far fewer bids as the seller is wiping out most of their potential market by refusing to post.  I picked up an original Xbox and 30 games for £5 using this method and everything worked fine.

Good advice that from TK

Not worth it for you but i have before contacted those with collection only and few bids asking if i sorted postage and a courier to collect from them or a local drop off point would they be willing to box and send. Sometimes they will.
