They guy is not a left back. His pace doesn't make up for his lack of intelligence. His mistakes often prove costly. He continues to add nothing to the team from an attacking perspective. If anyone can fill me in on what Rafa might have been thinking, I'm all ears...

Not a discussion thread, per se...more a request for information. Is he likely to be back for the Arse, or not risked, taking into account the small matter of a cup tie next week? How serious is his injury?

Didier Drogba is determined to fire the Ivory Coast to victory over hosts Egypt in tomorrow's African Nations Cup final and claim the crown as tournament top scorer. Egypt will have the backing of a passionate home support in Cairo but Chelsea striker Drogba insists the Pharaohs can be toppled. Drogba also claims he is a better player than Cameroon forward Samuel Eto'o, whose five goals make him top scorer so far, and who has twice pipped Drogba to be named African Player of the Year. "I believe I am the best player in Africa and I am going to prove it," said Drogba. "I am better than Samuel Eto'o, the only difference between me and Eto'o is that he knows …

My mate just told me that we've struck a deal with Real Sociedad (part of the Gonzalez loan deal) that we have first refusal on all of their players. If any club comes in for their players, we will have the option of matching the bid. Is this true or complete bollocks?

This is from the BBC website and i wondered what you might think of it. It sounds to me like they won't relay it until they have played Barca as they know barca would play them off the park on a nice even field. ......................... ................ as an extra little dig, their football wouldnt suffer as Huth and Drogba ensure the ball doesnt get near the floor anyway!

I actually wish that we had more "guest" posters, but he was such a poor quality one. He actually said "How many times have you won the premiership?". I just lose all respect for anyone who uses this idea about winning the prem being different to the league championship. You can argue that the Champions League is harder to win than the old European Cup, due to the quality of teams you now have to face, but the whole prem thing wasa badge change, nothing else. I read an interesting article on Abramovich's dirty money last night, I'll try and find it for you. I fucking hate Chelsea so much. Can they not understand how little value it is to buy the title? They ha…

KEWELL: WE ARE ALL TO BLAME Mark Platt 09 February 2006 Harry Kewell has today held up his hands and admitted no-one but the players are to blame for Liverpool's recent poor run of form. Last night's frustrating 2-0 reversal at Charlton means the Reds have now gone four Premiership games without a win and Kewell was brutally honest when assessing this latest disappointment. Despite dominating for long periods in the first half, Liverpool travelled back from south east London with nothing to show for their efforts as two goals in three minutes just before the break settled the contest. It was a similar story at Chelsea on Sunday, against Birmingham …

GERRARD ABSENCE KEY - YOUNG Luke Young hopes Charlton can use their victory over Liverpool to spark a revival in fortunes, but accepts the European champions are just not the same threat without inspirational skipper Steven Gerrard. The Addicks soaked up plenty of early pressure from the visitors at The Valley before two quick goals at the end of the first half. England midfielder Gerrard, 25, may also be unavailable for the trip to Wigan on Saturday with a knee injury, when Liverpool will look to arrest a run of three straight away league defeats. And international colleague Young admits it is a big void to fill. "The lads said before the game that Ge…

with 2 possible scenarios for the financial year ending July 2006. Right had a look at the accounts and the first thing I noticed was that the board have not depreciated anfield this year, although they do put a note in that states They've extended the date of residual value by a year and not put through a depreciation, possibly because it was put through last year. There were also additions of £1m in charges over the year relating to the new stadium. There have been £7m of costs incurred to date and have yet to be depreciated (this will happen once the new stadium is built and opened). Transfers The value of transfers added in the year were £46m…

Who would you like to see brought in in the summer assuming that Djib or/and Nando will go. Personally, I think that there are 5 or 6 great options out there. Some are more realistic than others, but below is a list of the striker's i'll be hoping to see in a red shirt next season. Kuyt - Big, powerful, scored a shit load in the Dutch league and can play wide right of a three up front like he has for Holland a few times. Would definatley come here and we we're close last summer but wouldn't stump up the required amount. Would proably cost £10m plus but he looks tailor made for Rafa's system and English fotball. Defoe - Going to leave Spurs, quick, adjusted to …

GARCIA IN ACTION AS RESERVES DRAW Steve Hunter at Wrexham 09 February 2006 Spanish playmaker Luis Garcia and Danish international Daniel Agger were the star names on show for Liverpool Reserves as the Reds battled out a goalless draw with Bolton Wanderers at Wrexham's Racecourse Ground. Garcia played in a central attacking role playing just off striker Ramon Calliste and was lively in his 45 minute appearance, setting up chances and coming close to scoring himself. Agger was solid as a rock at centre half and played for 53 minutes. For the second reserve game running Jack Hobbs captained the team. Bolton fielded a largely inexperienced team but did incl…
