  1. So the trophy room then - no one would think to look there.

  2. One of my favourite players from our Div 2. I was kid just starting to go to games. What I liked about him was that he rarely went into tackle without winning the ball.

  6. I coached the lad who scored the Aussies second for a couple of years when he was 14/15. I said back then that the kid is an exceptional talent. Has an extremely low centre of gravity, quick, creative, uses both feet, natural finisher but he left Sydney FC to join the oil twats at Melbourne City (Man City owned) this season. Was definitely man of the match in the Grand final here and is only 19. I think he has a real chance of playing at a high level

  7. Don’t give up on BB if it underwhelms you at first (particularly if you’re comparing to some of the reviews you may have seen/heard). It definitely gets better, much better. In my opinion BCS is the better show. One of the best ever made. It’s different from BB but at the same time, very similar. Enjoy.

  9. Non-Liverpool related but apparently Arsenal are after Aaron Ramsdale, and Sheff Utd are after £30m to £32m for him! A fucking awful keeper who lest we forget has been relegated 2 seasons running with different sides, and it's £30m plus!! Ridiculous, is this the English premium again?

  10. I think you’re right. It feels like no coincidence that she was the only person in the team as far as I know who voted to leave the EU

  11. Yes mate, but if Starmer was to do exactly what Butler did there, stand up and say explicitly “You’re a liar, everyone knows you’re a liar, you’ve lied about this (insert one of the hundreds he’s told) you’ve lied about that (insert another)” And he continued like Butler did and got kicked out, just imagine how much that would cut through. He could speak to the BBC/ITV/Sky in the lobby straight afterwards and carry on calling him a liar and call it for what it is, the ridiculousness of him being asked to leave. It would be absolutely everywhere. Give the message to the public that it’s a choice between lies and honesty. Fuck parliamentary procedures. The government don’t fucking follow them! Attack, Attack, Attack. He’s a liar, rattle off his lies. Again and again and again. My mate knows Butler and she’s made up with her for that today. My mate is the regional women’s officer for us as well as our Branch media officer and she’s all up in a few other bits as well. The girl has Spina Bifida and these are all unpaid roles. She’s surviving on about four hours sleep a night because she’s so wrapped up in everything online and since the 2019 election and Covid most of the other people in the branch have disappeared or done fuck all. They’re town and borough councillors and she can’t even get them to put a few posts up on Facebook because they can’t be arsed. I’m made up for her today because that’s a big win for the women’s parts of the party too.

  12. Thanks for the advice. I'm trying I really am. As far as I'm concerned there's no rush to get back to normality and I can carry on living the lockdown life if necessary for another 6, 12 months. But I know that's not ideal if you're cohabiting and it's a lot to ask. So I try to compromise as described in a previous post, and she will try too but not without a massive kick off. We've had very different experiences throughout this, she's lost a loved one who she couldn't really see in the final months so thinks "fuck it". And I'm scared of losing loved ones a few of whom have either serious illness or are otherwise vulnerable or shielding and rely on me. It's just shit.

  13. We had this at the very beginning. Nobody really to blame, just one of the pitfalls of being polar opposites. I found myself devouring all info from all available sources, including this place. As a result I probably worked myself into a state that wasn’t helped by the wife maintaining a position somewhere between oblivion and denial. As the pandemic progressed, I calmed down and it dawned on her that this might be something worthy of at least five minutes of attention. Since then things have been better, in this area anyway. I guess they key is to try to understand the other point of view, even if you don’t agree with it. Then try to operate within each others ‘zone of tolerance’ as best you can. Easier said thanks done sometimes I know. Believe me I know… Hope it works itself out.

  16. This "rebuild cycle" shit isn't cutting it with me. Very American way to look at it, but it doesn't apply to football, where there are no rewards for being shit and entering a rebuilding "process." Sounds like ready made propaganda to explain away the dip we all know is coming down the road. If we need to rebuild, it's only because FSG haven't done enough with years of opportunities to refresh and evolve to ensure there's the continuity necessary for sustained success, like we did under Bob and Kenny and then United did under Ferguson. City haven't done it, they've allowed their squad to grow old together, but that doesn't matter because they're an aberration. They'll just buy without the need for the natural order to take place, where players age out and are edged out by younger and hopefully better ones. There's no-one outside of Liverpool's first 11 who fits that description at the moment, where they're the presumed heir to a starter as, to use the only example of City being normal, Foden was to Silva. This could have been avoided, but it feels that window gets shorter each transfer window that passes with inaction.

  17. Yes. That shit should bring a lifetime ban, as surely as a monkey gesture to a black player.

  20. This is exactly what those Tory Cunts want, they want society to start blaming each other rather than pointing the finger at them.

  21. The fella I was playing with yesterday struggles with the same. I told him to make sure he got his hips through the ball when striking it. That seemed to help. A full follow through also makes sure you get your body through the ball and can help negate the push. Final one is to embrace it. If you push ever drive, then just aim further left. I couldn’t believe how far left Colin Montgomery aims to allow for his natural fade. All you want is consistency.

  29. Yeah, that’s exactly right. Breaking Bad is decent in the first series, no more than that. But as the story progresses it gets better and better. Around halfway through the third series… … it really takes off into edge of your seat stuff. The last series probably doesn’t hit the heights of 3 & 4 but it needed to be that way for it to have the satisfactory ending.

  30. If you're OK rowing you can row on the Thames near Richmond, lovely part of the world to explore, maybe head to Kew Gardens from there as they have loads of stuff for kids to do. BBQ wise, Street food cheapest, but damn tasty head to Camden or Borough for the best. Bodean is alright and decent value, Smokestake is awesome but pricey, Temper is really good but fucking expensive. If you want American food head to Passyunk Avenue, there's three of them, one has a batting alley. They do cheesesteaks and proper American stuff and it's fucking lovely. If you're near Euston you're at the Welcome Collection which are a kids focused museum which mostly have decent stuff, if you go to the Stratford Westfield there's a massive trampoline park called 'Zap', I think, which will knacker the kids out. Let me know if you need anything else.

  34. Haha. I haven’t watched daytime television in years. I’ve taken to not switching the telly on until 6 or 7pm, so I miss new episodes of The Chase and Pointless. My favourite programmes include: Antiques Roadshow, Countryfile, Coast, Long Lost Family, Fake or Fortune?, various stuff on BBC Four and Gogglebox.

  35. Reminds me me of the time they were writing an attack piece on some politician. They knew he was secretly gay - and, being massive homophobes, they saw this as a stick to beat him with - but they didn't fancy a libel case. Instead, they described him as "a confirmed bachelor with a keen interest in musical theatre".

  37. No mention of the 15000 jobs we are creating and the investment we will be bringing to a run down slum area ? Na thought not, knew we should have thrown homeowners out of their homes. Like Quote Reply Report Well they did. That’s how Goodison avenue disappeared. But then I don’t expect an Everton fan to know their history when they’re too busy banging on about ours.

  38. Gutted for everyone on here who’s lost a dog. One of the worst feelings I’ve ever known. This little lass is around 18 years old now. Had her for coming up 9. She survived her second encounter with mast cell tumours this year after the same in 2017, nearly died during the removal op as her blood pressure dropped through the floor, so they had to bring her round immediately and stitch her up conscious. 26 weeks on Monday, so I’m told the danger of recurrence is now back to the same as for any dog who’s never had one. Touch wood and then some. She’s got cataracts in both eyes which won’t ever be operated on now - only life-saving anaesthetics allowed in future - and is deaf as a post, but she’s a little machine who the vets say is healthy, strong and still getting plenty enough quality in her life. Won’t hesitate to make that decision with the heaviest of hearts when required, just soaking up every single day in the meanwhile. Fucking apple of my eye.
