Houllier "You see how Milan Baros is playing here now for the Czech Republic. He was about to blossom for us when he got that ankle injury and missed practically the whole season".

Practically the whole season, who was picking Heskey ahead of him when he came back?

I think we can resign ourselves to this for some years to come. Certainly, his will be a regular voice in the press until he gets a new job; and even then we'll keep hearing these little attempts to grab a bit of reflected glory as Rafa leads us back to the top.

It was his inability to shut his mouth that was his greatest failing at Liverpool. Doesn't he know that if he stops talking for a couple of years, his legacy will be credited to him by others, rather than him having to claim it for himself?

It's all quite sad actually and smacks of someone who is insecure and needs to constantly remind himself that he has some worth.

To think some of the *Super* fans on here wanted GH to stay!

I don't think so mate. I reckon everyone wanted him out in the end, just that some people feel that they can't publicly say that they want the Liverpool manager out as the think it isn't "the Liverpool Way". Bullshit in my opinion, but in the world of the "uber-fan", the only way to behave.

Have to say I thought it was hilarious that Houllier said this on the same day that Milan came out and said he was going to leave Anfield until he heard the GH was getting the boot! He said that Houllier sucked all his confidence out of him. Who can blame the guy when he comes on as sub and looks awesome, and then sees Heskey start the next match!?

The quotes are taken from an interview with his best mate and media croney, Ian Risdale, in the Observer. The piece reads like a PR release. Laughable.

He mentions that Hula Hoop has had offers from two nations but neglects to mention which (probably UAE and Nigeria) and also from Benfica and St Etienne. The giants of European football are no doubt on his trail.

Good riddance.
