Sports Personality of the Year

That wheelchair genius with his four golds has to be a serious candidate. Ennis, Murray, Mo and Wiggins too. This is surely the strongest year ever for Sports Personality of the Year.

David Weir. He deserves something and could make the shortlist

Didn't he get some made up award not that long ago..so I think we're spared him

Think you're correct there. I think it will be Wiggins. Great choices this year. Mo Farah would be my pick to be honest. Was nerve biting stuff watching him win his medals, especially the second gold and quite emotional stuff. Murray Ennis and Weir too are also in with a great shout

I imagine to win sports personality of the year you need to have a personality. Murray is screwed.

I disagree with your opinion on Murray and said in aforementioned thread how refreshing it is that so many of the contenders actually seem to have personalities this time round

Wiggins will win it, TDF and Olympic gold in the same year.

Harsh on Murray, but how do you begin to compare them. Wiggins' Tour win was a team effort in so many ways, but Murray gets four cracks at a grand slam every year. Farah won gold in the 5k and 10k, Ennis blew the field away in the heptathlon. This is before you even get onto the Paralympics.
