Scary (jumpy, not some gorey shite) Movies

Night of the Demon (1951) is a really creepy horror film. Stars Dana Andrews and Niall McGuiness. The director Jaques Tournier gets the atmosphere and suspense, spot on. Highly recommend it, one of my all time favourites.

As opposed to Casting The Runes (an adaption of the same M R James horror story) , which just isn't scary, as it lacks any kind of suspense or atmosphere. Even the usually excellent Iain Cuthbertson is below par.

I've got no recommendations as I usually go for the gore or ridiculous, but you're definitely better off going down the vintage or foreign route for jumpy horrors.

I saw the Conjuring in the cinema at thought it was rubbish. Maybe if I was sat at home or with a bird it would be different, but dunno how anyone could get scared when you're sat with a load of people and can hear people eating popcorn.
