I'd go as far as to say he's been poor since the turn of the year. I'm hoping we don't get him because of his obvious limitations - he stands out at Blackpool, but his weaknesses would get exposed and scrutinised here, or at any top 6 side. His lack of fitness and the failure to shield the defence are pretty glaring flaws, but I also think his passing ius overrated (especially given the comparisons with Alonso). When you add in the transfer fee that Blackpool will demand - in excess of ten million - then he becomes a very poor option.

 

Mind you, we seem intent on buying up the former Rangers side (Soto, Wilson, now Adam!)

Blackpool wont command anything like £10m. We'd pick him up for £4m-£5m because he's out of contract next year and Blackpool will go down. Id take him as a squad player for that price.

He won't cost £10 million. His form hasn't particularly dipped either. Still getting assists and goals.

Barton is a very good midfeilder and always has been, certainly one of the best in the Premiership.

 

Based on talent alone he'd walk into most teams, including ours, but his well-deserved reputation for being a cunt has had a deleterious effect on his career.

Bad decision to play To**es in my opinion. Drogba would have been up for this game and when he is up for it, he is very difficult to handle.

You can bollocks off, he despises Real. I still like Torres and I've let all the crap go. He's got his own problems and didn't treat us with enough respect, but he's human. We have Carroll and Suarez so we've properly moved on. He was my favourite player, I can't hate him, and to be honest I'll enjoy watching him play whenever I get to watch Chelski vs the Mancs or Everton.

 

To spare myself a lot of negs and peoples annoyance which I can totally accept, will refrain from calling him N**do again. I've got a forgiving nature that's all, and think life is too short to be hating people.
