Two boxing documentaries, but two very good documentaries.

Assault in the ring:

The documentary examines a boxing match that took place between undefeated prospect Billy Collins Jr and Luis Resto. The fight was on the undercard for a bout between Roberto Durán and Davey Moore. Resto unexpectedly beat the highly touted Collins in a 10-round unanimous decision; however, after the fight, Resto's gloves are found to be missing a significant amount of padding, an illegal tampering which allowed Resto to inflict greater damage on Collins during the fight. What began as a boxing match turned into a life altering moment for both participants - Collins' career dreams ended and Resto and his trainer Panama Lewis landed in prison for their illegal actions. The subsequent investigation and trial have led many to declare this bout the darkest day in boxing history.

Chavez VS Taylor HBO Legendary Nights:

The boxing world championship fight held on March 17, 1990 between WBC Jr Welterweight world champion Julio César Chávez of Mexico and IBF world champion Meldrick Taylor of the United States in Las Vegas, Nevada was a historic boxing match. Nicknamed "Thunder Meets Lightning" as an allusion to tremendous punching power of Chávez and blinding speed of Taylor, the bout was expected to be a rousing and exciting fight, but few, (if any) could have foreseen the intense action it would produce, and its lasting fame in boxing history due to its sudden, dramatic, and controversial ending that continues to be widely debated. It would later be named Ring Magazine's "Fight of the Year" for 1990, and later still the "Fight of the Decade" for the 1990s.

I thought Yellowstone was the best BBC nature documentary that there has been in a while.

All four parts were recently shown on Eden.

They are divided up into Winter,Spring,Summer and Autumn/Fall.

If you havent seen them they are visually stunning and very interesting too both from a wildlife and history standpoint.

Just watched Muhammad and Larry - it's excellent.

All of ESPN 30 for 30 docs are worth watching.Muhammad and Larry was a sad watch for me,Ali`s doctor was the only person to come out off Ali`s camp with respect,he actually cared for the man and not a pay day.The commision should have been shot for allowing him to fight

Dig! is one of the best films let alone documentaries ever, it's about The Dandy Warhols and Brian Jonestown Massacre, Some Kind of Monster is up there too, interesting look at Metallica nearly falling apart.

Paradise Lost 1 and 2 about the Westborough 3/Robin Hood Hills murders are really good so is Grizzly Man.

Watched the first one of these the other day, tragic story from every angle, really enjoyed it.

Part 2 is good too although it does get a bit sensationalist and pretty much points the finger at someone for doing the murders (to be fair he doesn't help himself and it only needs him twirling his tash for him to go into full on evil mode).

Forgot ....Once in a Lifetime: The Extraordinary Story of the New York Cosmos ...funny when you hear Rodney Marsh (who played for the Tampa Bay Rowdies) make out he was the "white Pele" and managing to squeeze in Giorgio Chinaglia's ego !
