My fear with Jovanovic is that he wasn't playing at his two clubs previous to Liege.

 

Granted, he's scored a lot of goals in a fairly defensive league. So, he could be fantastic.

 

Done some searching now and thats what hit me too, injured or simply not good enough for Shakhtar Donetsk and Lokomotiv Moscow.

 

His record in Belgium so far is 14, 16, 12 and 10 goals, not sure how good that is and what it reflects, but these are the top scorers in Belgium the last 20 years, so people can draw their own conclusion,

Yes, there are some free transfers that are good. But it's difficult. The last ace one was under Houllier when we signed Babbel on a free, the best right back I've ever seen play for us.
