Pretty much sums up where we are that.

They are dead average - not won a football match this calendar year yet, but not awful....and we were a bit better than them but not really with enough to ever really deserve to win.

Slow and ponderous all over park, especially in the black hole we call midfield....nervy at times in defence and without Nunez much, much less threatening and pacey in attack.

 

Plenty of ball but no real idea what to do with it.

That draw is arguably a half decent point given what we are now, and it is very hard to make a case for us being worth any more.

At least we didn't lose - although losing to a team as toothless as them would be some feat even in our current state.

Just a mediocre display from a mediocre team.

Well, we didn't lose. That's about the only positive I can think of. Just another utter dogshit performance. Pathetic finishing when we did create chances. Yet more comedy defending. There was a spell in the second half where a Sunday league team would have been embarrassed with the standard of our passing. It wasn't really any better than the Wolves game - more just a case that Palace didn't punish our various mistakes. We're on a run of 3 league clean sheets which may be one of the most misleading statistics in the history of football as there has been nothing convincing about our defending in these matches.

I was going to single out a couple of players but at least 8 of them were abysmal tonight so no point in that.

 

I don't see Klopp turning this around. He may well do but I would be surprised.

He's clearly not able to send them out with fire in their bellies anymore.  Henderson has been this bad for years, it's only now that people are noticing as there aren't enough players in form to carry him.  The best thing Klopp could do is take the captaincy off him and tell him his performances are a disgrace.

Carvalho looked a threat every time he came on early in the season, but seems to have disappeared completely off the radar in recent months, inexplicably.

Just another in a series of baffling decisions this seasons.

Our defence has been woeful all season yet they didn't register a shot on target! 3 league clean sheets in a row. We have to take the positives when they arise I suppose. Take the point and move on. Insipid but they happen.

That might be the most depressing thing I've read in this thread tonight. It already feels like it's been going on longer than last year's quadruple challenge despite only having played a tiny fraction of the games.

Not much will change this season

 

We will have some good days because we have some quality footballers and there are a lot of poor sides in league and we'll raise our game in the odd big game

 

But we'll have some Brighton and Brenftord/Wolves type days and days like this and sadly more than enough of them.

 

We then go into what Klopp and what every fan knows is a massive summer with a big rebuild job on, one that has become as big as it is because we have failed to properly maintain the squad and refresh it properly.

 

Hopefully he knows and gets what he needs and then maybe we can see us 'go again'.
