Mature cheddar cheese and black pepper on brown bread,had a few turn their nose up at work but have found a few converts.lovely.

I used to favour grated but prefer thinly sliced now.

I’ve been going to subway for my dinner for about 3 months now.

 

Italian bread

Turkey breast & Ham

Cheese and toasted

Lettuce

Red onion

Jalapeños

Gherkins

Southwest sauce

 

Fucking lovely.

Salmon paste and cucumber sarnies are fit.

If you're doing Subway,It's got to be Steak & Cheese or Chicken Pizziola.

 

Two bought sandwiches I'd recommend are Co-op's New York Deli pre-made sandwich and the Roast Beef White Roll with salad and coleslaw from the Sandwich Bar on Drury Lane in town. Top notch sandwichery.

One that I've made before is eggbread (French toast) slices, with sliced chorizo, rocket and lemon mayo. The bread was actually those sandwich thins which are too flimsy and dry for a decent sandwich, but frying them in beaten egg elevated them to something worthy.

 

As for Subway, I probably only have it 5-6 a year, and I go for Turkey & Ham on the herby bread, toasted but with no cheese, and with the addition of lettuce, tomato, peppers, red onions, pickled gherkins and honey & mustard sauce. Subway's jalapenos are frightful so I always swerve them.

Used to be supermarket own brand, or Shippam's if you were posh.

 

The town I used to live in had a huge Shippam's factory on the edge of it. Made everywhere within about 10 miles smell fucking revolting.

Hmmmm. Probably too poncey to say Pret so I'll go with Burger King for purely fast food and Wagamamas if we focus on the chain bit.
