I saw Night Beats in the Bitterzoet in Amsterdam a while back. Good band. Deffo a bit of 13th Floor Elevators in there.

Check out Rats On Rafts if you go to Liverpool Psych. They are from Rotterdam but David the singer was brought up a Liverpool fan by his Irish ma. They are all massive Bunnymen and Teardrops fans and dead excited about finally getting to play Liverpool.

Found a video on YouTube on Saturday night when I was half asleep of Steely Dan playing My Old School in 1973, got up yesterday morning & it had been deleted.

Pissed off, I'm a bit obsessed with Steely Dan at the moment, I've bough Countdown to Ecstasy which is arriving today & I'll have all their 70s stuff.

The lip synced version with Diaz and Skunk Baxter?

We're hosting another gig in our local (the fourth one this year) previously we had John Murry, The Lost Brothers and David Corley. This one is for Peter Bruntnell, a really under-rated artist from the UK. His new album is really brilliant including this great anti-Trump song.

Kings of Leon on Jools Holland tonight.

Used to like them then that album with Sex On Fire came out and they just went a bit shite.

New single actually sounded half decent.

They were followed by a band called M83 who I've heard of but never heard them. They were quite good. And one of the female singers was absolutely stunning.

Kings of Leon are the absolute definition of what happens when the record companies marketing department set their styling team on a band.

I've been enjoying King Champion Sounds recently. New album is out

https://kingchampionsounds.bandcamp.com/

Their best stuff still sounds like The Fall with a brass section but with G W Sok out The Ex singing. Boss band.

Oh and they have J Mascis and Mike Watt on a couple of tracks.

This is the first track

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CS3wIhyKQT4

J Mascis is on the solo at the end

The first album and the 10" mini album are great.
