The Midnight Club

 

Some good performances from the young cast, but I think Mike Flanagan peaked with Hill House. He crow-bars in too many melodramatic speeches that clog up scenes. I like that he has a theme for each series, but he lacks the deftness of touch to allow it to rise organically, letting the viewer work it out. Still, it was fun enough.

First two episodes of Mayor of Kingstown season 2, really good. Brutal.

Three Minutes on BBC4 Storeyville last night was quite good, I can't remember the name of the Polish town where the short film was shot but seeing all the kids acting up before the camera and other older people staring at it was quite eerie and very sad in the knowledge that within a few years only a few survived the horror after the German troops arrived , 100 out of the population of 3000. I hate, yes hate that show with a passion, I have never been angered so much at the end of a season as I was with this.

 

My missus loved it and actually watched the second season.

 

It's definitely a marmite show.

The American Crime Story one about Clinton / Lewinsky.

 

Like the OJ Simpson & Versace ones, it’s well made and pretty good.

 

I know Lewinsky was never going to come #1 in any FHM hotlist, they still could have gotten somebody better looking than the actress they did.
