Thanks the the guide. Got this up and running in ten minutes on my media PC in the lounge. I just have ice films for TV and movies ATM. Is it worth getting others or do they have most the stuff?

Depends what you want to do with it. If you want live UKTV then FTV is great. If you want live sports or porn or documentaries then go for them.

 

Icefilms is great for TV/movies and so is 1channel. Istream will give you results from both of these though and has more functions.

 

Mashup looks good as well but I am sticking with istream/FTV/paid streams for now.

Yes. There is an official XBMC remote app but I prefer Yatse as the keyboard is better for a start. Both are free. Probably loads of others as well.

Too bloody lazy to read through 7 whole pages, so if someone could tell me what's the story with this and the iPad?

I have it installed, and have SportsDevil in my add-ons. Doesn't seem to work though. Can select what I want to watch, but it just sits at the little rotating circle thing saying "working".

 

My version of XBMC is 12.3 (Frodo) or something. Doesn't look like the one in the original post, and can't seem to find an update. So maybe that's what's causing it?!

Frodo is the most recent stable version. You can change the skin of the program to make it look different and the wizard installers tend to change the look as well.

 

It could be that you are trying flash streams and the ipad won't play them or maybe there is some kind of UK block on Sports Devil.

 

Si reckons he is getting decent sport streams with Mashup so you could try that.

The quality of the live streams seems quite poor. I'd recommend Acestream, though it requires a bit of tinkering with settings to get past isp throttling and buffering issues.

Think it was a flash link I was trying, so that's probably that. Will try a different one. What's Mashup? Another add-on?

 

I'm in Ireland, and don't have any problem with Acestream. So hopefully there's not much tinkering needed.

Mashup is the thing in the video higher up this page. It is one addon that does the job of loads of addons.

 

The instructions on how to install it are 2 posts higher than that.

I have to change my server with 1channel as my ISP is talk talk and it's blocked so need to put a proxy in. It says look in settings but I have looked in 1channels resolver settings and the settings in the front page and can't find a tab for 1channels server anywhere.

 

Anyone know where it is? Cheers.

Have you got XBMC hub maintenance enabled? It's in there on my XBMC but the fix in there hasn't worked for me.

Yea, I found that on Google. Can't seem to get the remote to actually work though, even though the wizard seemed to work fine.

I don't think the wizard completes if it can not connect. Maybe you have a setting in XBMC blocking it but I think that would stop the wizard.

Just checked it and there is now a XXX-ADULT section once you get to the fusion bit rather than Video/Free TV as in the video. A few repos to add in there for you.
