It was a version of mate.

 

Had a load of veg that needed using up, shredded cabbage, roasted some tomatos and a lemon and whacked in some spaghetti with stock and a tin of beans.

 

Ahhh, that is what we do a lot of the time, an all in soup with whatever takes your fancy.

Same here, plus it gets the kids to eat some veg. Add a bit of cheese to thicken it up and bobs yer auntie. I'm quite a decent cook, when i make a lovely healthy meal the younger kids moan, if i make schnitzel/home made burgers etc etc they eat it all up.

Like you say, just 'hide' the stuff they reckon they won't like and they'll eat it no problem.
