Building your own website

I had my first go at this today for my dads business, using dreamweaver and godaddy.com for hosting etc.

Finally in bed now after getting to grips with the software all day and learning the basics. I've got a website up and running, pretty basic but good enough for one days work , with all different pages and links etc.

I'm quite handy on computers so was able to pick up some of the stuff easily (whilst avoiding code and doing it all from the design image bit).

Anyway it has got me quite interested in messing about some more and making a website of my own but I don't wanna pay out, does anybody know what's the best way to do it?

Free-cheap hosting services and domains?

Cheers

Dude, if you do it all using the design view in Dreamweaver it might not look great in all browser sizes, just a thought. Especially if you're using a fixed layout.

The only way to get free hosting is to host it yourself, whether through your own dedicated webserver, or leaving your laptop/desktop on all day and hosting through that. Piece of piss to set up.

You won't get a free domain name though dude.
