Kate Upton, the 2012 Sports Illustrated swimsuit cover girl, was nagged by concerned friends to cut back on her junk-food consumption or face a premature end to her modeling career.

 

“She’s not your typical model,” a friend told the New York Post. “She will eat anything.”

 

The curvy 5'11" Upton was so lax about her eating habits that friends were worried she wouldn't make the cut for SI's iconic swimsuit isssue.

 

“I never deprive myself. If I’m craving something once a week, then I’ll go have it,” Upton said recently. “Ice cream or whatever, I just eat the foods I like."

 

But Kate, 19, apparently heeded friends' advice, cutting back on ice cream and french fries, and amping up her workouts, including swimming, pilates, kickboxing, and strength-training.
