1. Suarez. Not his very best performance, but gets us the spotkick and a lovely assist for our second. Troubled their defence throughout. Someone said on the match thread that he's ball greedy, but I don't really think that's the issue. I think if we gave him a few more options in the box/on the counter he (and we) would be even more productive.

2. Enrique. Two sloppy passes in the first 10 minutes, other than that a flawless performance from my favourite LFC player atm. At a club that has had greats like Dalglish and Hamann at this technique, he's the best LFC player I've seen to shield the ball. He's completely impossible to knock off it when he's in front of or beside you. A really undervalued attribute for a defender imo. When the ball slowly rolled towards the line late in the 2nd I just knew their attacker would have absolutely no chance of reaching it/dummying him. Fantastic stuff:yes:

3. Adam. Thought this was his best game for us so far. Very direct, covered a lot of ground, and if we can get him one more dangerous outlet (right now we should replace Downing with Bellamy imo, as the former is a bit off form) when we counter, he'll (and we) be very effective.

Very good displays from our CBs as well. I think Agger and Skrtel should be first choice for now (perhaps Coates could get some minutes in the Swansea game to give him some more experience though). We look far more comfortable in possession, and are able to play a bit higher up the pitch too.

Thought Carroll had a pretty good game too, especially 2nd half.

The only real concerns today: Downing's continuing poor form is starting to worry me slightly. I think both we, Bellamy and himself would benefit from a few starts for Bellamy... Also, we need to be a lot more clinical in the final third. A few chances were missed, but we could have created a lot more on the counter if we had made the right choices (as well as countering with one more man).

Edit. Just browsed the thread after posting, and nice to see so many recognising Skrtel's performance. I didn't put him in the top 3 because of the miniscule threat WBA offered, but he didn't really put a foot wrong did he? Wonder if someone should start a thread for preferred CB pairing now?

Right, just back in from the game and haven't seen any highlights yet so get the Dettol ready, I'm going to lay my balls on the table.

Lucas

Suarez

Carroll

Thought the front two linked brilliantly in the second half, if only in flashes in the first.
