Absolute dogshit. Every promising attack we had broke down at his feet. It was like watching kuyt at his destructive worst. All energy and effort but an embarrassing lack of footballing ability.

That's total bollocks.

Suarez broke down way for moves today than Henderson for starters!

I don't think he can play that role. He's more suited to the role Gerrard is playing. The up & down midfielder next to a specialist defensive midfielder.

I agree that I think that is his best role.

It took Lucas two years to learn that role to an acceptable level. I like Henderson, but we cannot put ourselves through that again. Learning on the job is not a luxury we can afford - the team isn't good enough to absorb the impact that would inevitably have.

Henderson really does need to start imposing himself on matches. He's old enough, and he's experienced enough. Less worrying about the hair, more trying to make a fucking difference.

It's frustrating, because we've all seen glimpses of what might be possible from him. I guess that's the difference between top class players and also rans. The ability to bring their attributes to bear consistently.

I'd sign a specialist defensive midfielder as well. But while we only have Lucas, I would have liked to try Henderson in that role, especially over Allen - who will never be a defensive midfielder. Henderson has more attributes to make that role work.

I don't get the praise for him yesterday. He's done well recently but aside from one through ball to coutinho that was really nice, he did absolutely fuck all else.

First half there were 3 occasions where he just stood on the spot and watched the dame go on without him, rather than move forward into a gaping hole in their half.

He strolled around. He made himself available for passes in a way in which his only option was to pass straight back to the same player, or back further to the centre backs or keeper.

He just is what he is, and most likely always will be.

A decent premier league midfielder who wouldn't look out of place at a mid table team.

For a team with ambitions of finishing higher up the table I honestly don't think he ever will be good enough.

Hes not 18/19, he'll be 23 in 2 months. Not to say he won't get any better than he is now. You just have to look at Lucas to see how players can improve. So its up to Henderson to make the improvement and quickly.

But I just have the feeling he'll never be a brilliant player. He'd be a great squad player though.

He's not fit to lick Danny Murphy's window. Never mind Alonso of Gerrard or Mascherano' level. Momo Sissoko is not spoken about cos u lot r all gayers but even he must be livid.

Call me all u want but Im the Simon Cowell of the FF and he is not and will not ever be good enough, you need a solid DM and a solid AM and a passing CM plus backup to have a decent team, we have no room for testicless bottle carriers if we want to get anywhere.

This whole post is on the money, especially the bolded bit which is the most important point.

I must rate him higher than you do, which is fine.

But you don't need XI or even a squad full of world beaters. Look at United they have been winning title for years with plenty of average players like Cleverley, Anderson, O'Shea, Brown, P. Neville, Fletcher etc etc.

Henderson is no worse than any of that lot. I personally think he is getting better all the time and won't fully thrive until he gets his best role, the one Gerrard plays in.

This is it, almost. He is an average player at best and the praise he's been getting lately is indicative of how far we have drifted in our expectations. He's a fucking coward.

I wouldn't be too distraught to see the back of him, Downing and Carroll.

I seen enough of Diame to think he would suit us alongside Lucas pushing Gerrard further forward to play alongside Coutinho and Suarez.

West Ham want Carroll so why not sort a deal taking Diame and some dough for the Geordie yard dog.

He has an average game and the knives come out for him.

Should we sell Suarez as well, as he had a poor game. No of course not.

Henderson has had a good season, he has progressed and yesterday he was not the only player who didn't have their best game. He wasn't poor, just average.

I think that in Henderson we have a decent PL player. The coward jibe seems odd. He does his best.

I agree with your assessment of Henderson, Downing and Carroll if we have serious intent beyond sitting around the EL qualifying slots, but have not seen much to suggest that we have, so throwing them out ( Carroll excepted, he has to go) doesn’t necessarily get us very far.

Would Diame come? I rate him too.Would the deal not involve them taking Carroll and taking cash off us?

Diame is meant to have a clause doesn't he?

I don't think he is the type of player we need. I think we need an athletic defensive midfielder, like Wanyama. Diame is more of a box to box player, we have plenty of those in Gerrard, Henderson, Allen, Shelvey...

What we need is a more athletic defensive midfielder who can give competition and a different option to Lucas.

I take time to watch the lad when we play and watching him yesterday convinced me of how decidedly average he really is.

The coward in him is his ability to put himself behind an opposing player not in a position to receive a pass, his constant return passes to team mates rather than turn with the ball to face the opposition. I can't figure out his exact role.

I know he has improved a bit over the last couple of months and I know he has a pass in him, the return cushioned ball to Enrique for Allens goal against Zenit a good example. He just doesn't want to do it enough.

As someone said earlier he's nearly 23 so should really be making his mark.

While I'm here me mate in graft, a Bolton fan, has raved about Jay Spearing all season and is by a country mile their best player according to all their fans. They love the kid and are singing every game for them to sign him up.

Spearing or Henderson?? FFS we have drifted a bit.

The answer to that question is either 'Henderson' or 'neither'. If the answer is ever Spearing, then that is an indication we have a drifted a fuck of a lot.

Of course it has to be neither. A lot of people getting carried away with Hendersons progress. Would like him to prove me wrong and turn out to be a great player but I can't see it personally.

Some of the posts in this thread really sums up part of so called liverpool supporters. See how all these sky sports fans are quiet when Hendo was playing fantastic, not a word out of the mouths of the donkeys, as soon as Hendo has an average game, not a bad game but an average game, the donkeys come frothing in their mouth to spew hate out. These are the same people who were frothing in their mouths at Lucas a few years ago and of course some still do, and he came back to stick a finger up their gaping assholes...hendo me lad get your finger ready if you are given the chance...

No Im on henmania's case becos he is a fraud, Lucas I was never on his case cos I could see he was trying and putting a foot in even if he was giving a lot of fouls away, most of the time he did it in areas where it didnt hurt us, normally to slow an attack down. Hendo runs next to people now and then and thats about it, he is not of the example mentailty we need to look for, players like sissoko, alonso, mascherano, gerrard, hamaan or lucas to think of recent sucesses in his position all put a fuckin foot in.
