How you feel about Adam is how I feel about Carroll and Downing. I want them to do well for the club I support, but I don't think they're are good enough to do it at the top level.

 

I certainly don't want the team built around Carroll. He's a very average player, in my opinion. If that makes me a less sensible poster, so be it. It's what I believed to be true. If he turns out to be a top player, improves in every area of his game, and becomes the prolific goalscorer we require to reach the level to which we're aspiring, I'll be over the moon. Opinions may vary.

I think Carroll could play a part in a varied Liverpool striking approach. Surely we're not going to be so predictable that all we do is leg it up the wing and cross it to Carroll's head? I think that with Gerrard in a strong supporting striker role (when Lucas is back) together with Suarez, Carroll could add that wild card factor.

 

My concern now, is that with aging players and a thin squad of experience, we may not get to splurge out this summer on another striker, because of big money already spent, but in fact we need to.

Dont rate him. Dont think he is good enough. Dont think he fits in Liverpool team with more intelligent players. A couple of goals doesnt change that.
