If these transfers go ahead, this is the likely look of our first team next season, in my opinion (although that attacking trio behind Torres is largely interchangeable):

Pepe

Albert Carra Danny Boy Dossena

The Chief Barry

Gerrard Keane Babel

El Nino

Despite not knowing anything about the Italian and wishing we could keep Xai rather than sign Barry, that attack looks very potent and the side looks very well balanced. There would also be some real talent on the bench and the flexibility to cope with injuries to key players.

Can i ask why people keep putting Gerrard back in the centre of midfield when it has been proven that when he has played either on the right or behind the striker he has performed better.

Gerrard does not have the discipline to play that role as his attacking instincts kick in and in all fairness you would take away a lot of his game by dropping back there.

You also have the fact that he has just scored 20+ goals in the attacking midfield role, would his replacement score as many.
