Good result.

Alisson is just a hell of a keeper.

I'm still worried about Salah taking penos - his choice today, well executed though it was, was of someone lacking the usual confidence to go for the corners. He needs to really get his old arrogance back.

Diaz - he cuts back way too often for my liking. Maybe he's still dealing with issues relating to his injury, but I want him to just go past people, be more aggressive and direct (no need for the Kenneth Williams gif).

Szoboszlai is just one of the signings of the decade. He's ridiculously classy in everything he does. There's a real spirit of Souness about his attitude.

AlecSIS and GravenberG were also good. Who was that commentator?

The woman with hin did my head in. She was determined to act like she'd played at Anfield masses of times in front of packed-out crowds. I don't get THAT bothered by the use of female pundits but for chrissakes don't do this 'Yup, that's how it feels at Anfield' crap when you've only booted a ball around an echoey Prenton Park.

Yeah, I’m not letting go of this.

Michail Antonio only completed 5 passes against Liverpool. Michail Antonio failed to win any of his 6 aerial duels. Michail Antonio lost the most duels in the match. All talk, no action.

On an unrelated note does anyone has a crowbar and some swarfega to get a player out of Matip's pocket?

It's fucking weird and blatantly forced and put on, twat commentator.

They do their standard research (watching a bit of LFCTV) so they MUST know that even people in the club don't call him this, so why they make a point of doing it is really bizarre.

Just back from the game. Dom and Gomez were great - probs Dom shading it for me.

West Ham were very physically strong. Good pressing and closing down all over the pitch. They won a lot of our second balls in the middle. But they ran out of gas after about 75 mins. Then Dom bossed them.

It seemed to me that west ham decided to try and make the game more physical around 50, which got a previously quiet crowd going. It seemed to help lift our players and push them back, making Antonio increasingly isolated. I don't know why teams do that. If you have anfield quiet, keep it like that.

I thought Dom's role interesting today, there were periods he was double pivot 6, Gomez overlapping an Jones with a free role across the pitch. Then we'd switch to the more conventional single 6 double 8,  but gomez would be deeper and more inside. It seemed to offer us greater balance than this RB hybrid 6 role.

He doesn't really put many truly in the corner at all.

Was always told when was young 'aim into side netting' Gerrard used to do that really well.

Thing is lots of players now seem to go down middle or in that little spot between middle and corner - seems more a game of waiting for keepers to commit.

But looking at Salah's graphic he obviously scores loads of his - but you can argue he does not put many in the unsaveable spots - even if a keeper is heading wrong way you run a risk he might get some of these with his feet - but other side of coin is he scores most of them.

Look, he's been spooked. He's been shocking with his pens recently. That was a pen of someone who really hoped he could just get that damned thing in this time. His celebration showed what a relief it was. There was no waiting to see where the keeper was going. He hasn't gone for the side netting in ages. His recent pens have been really nervous affairs. Don't forget a year or so ago he was well-known for cockily asking keepers where they thought he'd put it. That was completely different to how he is now. If you genuinely feel confident when he steps up now then, well, we have to agree to differ, but don't do the condescending PR stuff. He's not moved out of his nervous period by any means.

Mac[no gap]Allister needs to play further up. He was moved away from the ball sometimes today like someone escorting David Walliams away from the cream puff section of Greggs. Endo wasn't brought in like Arthur, he was brought in with the insistence that he was a phenomenal defensive midfielder, with endless energy and fight, who would surprise people and silence critics with his impact. So for god's sake hurry up and prove it and play him there and leave Mac[still no gap]Allister to play where he's meant to play.

I never said i was confident when he takes....but his record is good so we probably should be mind.

I much prefer pens in corners - far less of them get saved, as i said Gerrard was good at putting them there....But Salah has never really been one for that and it seems less players are now...Arsenals today was pretty straight.

I am not a fan of it to be honest. But his record is regardless of what we think good.

As for condascending stuff - i have no idea what the fuck you are crying about - i was just offering some insight into salah's penalty taking - i should have known better frankly than to waste my time with you.

The other side blowing up for the last 20 minutes has happened in the last three games. It seems to be tactical - trying to chase us down early and pressure us into mistakes and then hope to hang on.

Comfortable win in the end.  Jota injecting a bit of determination in the team literally 2 seconds after he comes on.  He's a better player than Diaz and offers more to the team, so should be on from the start if we want goals.  Bring Diaz on as an impact player if necessary.  The first half was poor.  Credit to Nunez for keeping his head up after missing the sitter.  Gomez excepted, the defence was poor again.  Jones complacent and too slow and cautious with the ball.  Needs to pick up the pace and use the skills he has.  I'm not sure he's quite ready to be a regular part of the starting 11.  Perhaps we need to give Endo a run and allow McAllister to play a more forward role.

Still, pleased overall with the result.

Jones has played every game he’s available over this 18 match unbeaten run. I’d say he’s beyond ready, he’s actually doing it.

Endo should not play a game that isn't in the Carabao Cup or Europa League group stage. Jones is 5 times the player right now. He's been a good complement to Mac and Szobo. He presses well,  has a physical presence and doesn't lose the ball.

Agree.

Endo looks like a bit of a poor signing so far.
