My partner has had surgery, spent 6 weeks in hospital after a mistake. Has had a catheter in since late July and it will stay in till they fix her bladder which has now partially connected to her vagina. She has also been diagnosed with breast cancer which requires chemo tablets for 6 months then surgery. My fucking heart is broken and my head is away with the mixer. I give to Marie Curie and Zoe’s Place.

Felt like letting it out. Feel like screaming.

hoping for the best for you

If there is a bit of controversy regarding the charity which receives the donations then do it as a poll of a few different options?

I’m totally open to this. The Macmillan thing was just a spur to organise a collection in support of all those who have had and are living with the effects of this hideous disease. Let’s raise some money and decide what to do with it then

I’m so sorry, VD. It sounds never ending. Please say you’ve got someone looking after you

If others have had similar experiences I would much prefer that a collection of people’s hard earned went to a cause that will actually benefit people. We’ll see what happens x

They were brilliant in their support when we were looking after my terminally ill father-in-law, then a year later with me (Wandsworth, and Hammersmith workers). I guess it depends on the individual staff, just like any organisation. Sorry to hear they were so unsupportive to Stig and his family.

Yes, will donate money, and maybe even try to bake something. Your sure that coffee mornings don't involve prawn Madras, Champ?

The only rule is to post a picture of your morning pit stop

I'm so sorry to hear that mate. Not sure what to say apart from reiterating that you have people here who care and are here to support you if you need to chat etc.

As for Cath's initial email, I'm more than happy to chip in and as always, thanks for organising and just being the kind and caring person you are.
