Dortmund away leg

Recommended Posts

As good as their front three is, I can actually see us cause them quite a few problems too. They're scoring for fun in the league, but are equally prone to mistakes at the back as us. The key is to pressure them into mistakes at the back, which is why starting Origi over Sturridge is the only right decision. With Sturridge "pressing" we might as well retreat back to our own half, with Origi there we'll get a few "turnovers" and start our own attacks higher up the pitch.

People advocating for Sturridge because he's got a great goal return for us aren't seeing the whole picture, as a team I bet we're scoring less with him in the starting line-up than with most of our current strikers. No stats to back that up, just a feeling I have, others may prove me wrong. If he's mightily pissed and decides to try and prove a point if/when coming on, all the better.

No Gundogan in the Dortmund squad and they have Castro and Durm starting in midfield and Sven Bender starting at centre back.

There are a few weaknesses that can be exploited.

I wouldn't be surprised if Durm plays RWB like he has done for the last few games I've watched Dortmund
