Stevie's lads are great to watch. So many talented kids in his set up and they seem to score four or five every game.

Curtis Jones looks like he could be really, really good. I like the left back Adam Lewis a lot too, but it's hard singling anyone out because the whole team looks quality.

That Millar kid looks like a good dribbler of the ball from the little I’ve seen.

Half time - Wolves 0 Liverpool 0

Both keepers have made good saves in the first 45. The home keeper tipping a Rafa Camacho effort onto the post after a good turn and shot from 20ish yards by the Portuguese youngster.

Jaros made a fine save with his feet to keep out the home side moments later.

Wolves have a former Liverpool Academy youngster, Diego Lattie, playing for them today after he joined them last month. I had wondered what had happened to him, as he was supposedly highly thought of when he brought him in from the City academy.

Millar has been excellent this season, and for me is only behind Curtis Jones for player of the season at the 18s level. Adam Lewis is also having a fine season.

The new (French?) kid, Larouci, looks like an exciting prospect.

Yep, Larouci is French. Picked up from Le Havre. He's very direct and is pretty pacey, though he's very left footed. Don't think right wing back will be his long term position, but with Lewis on the left, and the attacking players in the 18s side, I suppose you play anywhere to just get some game time...

Wolves 1 Liverpool 0

A fine strike from the home skipper after Longstaff was caught daydreaming inside his own box. The ball was pinched off the sub and was played back to the edge of the area where the Wolves skipper unleashed a drive into the top right corner of Jaros' goal.

Full time - Wolves 1 Liverpool 2

A good 3 points for the lads. Came from behind to score twice in the last 5 minutes to grab all 3 points from a good Wolves side.

The lads kept going until the end and certainly deserved something from the game, so to take all 3 points will be really satisfying for them.

I was impressed by a few of the Wolves players, with their number 6, Sanderson, really standing out at the heart of their defence.

Offal Match Report

Adam Lewis scored a stunning winner two minutes from time as Liverpool moved top of the U18s Premier League with a 2-1 victory at Wolves on Tuesday afternoon.

Steven Gerrard's side went behind to an unstoppable strike from Dan McKenna in the 81st minute, but Glen McAuley levelled the scores soon after before Lewis drilled home to claim the three points.

The comeback preserves the U18s' unbeaten start to the season while taking them a point ahead of Manchester City at the top of the division.

Both sides had their chances in a lively opening 45 minutes. Rafael Camacho hit the bar with a superb effort, while at the other end Reds stopper Viteslav Jaros made a brilliant point-blank save to deny Brad Carr.

Curtis Jones, who always looked capable of making something happen in the final third, was next to go close for the Reds on 27 minutes, when a solo run was ended with his shot being kept out by Jackson Smith.

After a goalless opening half, Gerrard's charges started the second period strongly.

Elijah Dixon-Bonner's fierce drive from the edge of the box looked destined for the top corner before Smith kept it out with a superb save.

Camacho then had a goal disallowed when he met a cross from Lewis, before his celebrations were cut short by the offside flag.

On 65 minutes the home side went close. A surging run down the right flank from Ryan Giles saw his low cross just miss the lurking Austin Samuels in the middle of the penalty area.

A minute later, Millar had a great chance for the Reds but fired wide from a good position after excellent approach play from Lewis.

Both sides continued to look dangerous on the counter-attack as the game wore on. Jaros made a brilliant save to keep out a fierce drive from Giles before the home side opening the scoring on 81 minutes.

Luis Longstaff lost possession on the edge of his own penalty area and, when the ball found McKenna, the Wolves skipper drilled an unstoppable effort into the roof of the net.

Thankfully, Liverpool's response was outstanding.

On 84 minutes, Jones lofted a ball in from the right flank and McAuley produced a superb instinctive finish to divert the ball into the top corner of the net.

With two minutes remaining, Millar cut inside from the right, beat three defenders and, from his cut-back, Lewis smashed home an unstoppable left-footed drive to seal the victory.

Liverpool U18s: Jaros, Larouci (Longstaff, 69), Lewis, R Williams, Boyes, Clayton, Tagseth, Dixon-Bonner, Millar (Sharif, 90), Jones, Camacho (McAuley, 60).

Subs not used: Atherton, Glennon.
