tell me why you feel so strongly towards them,

I'll tell you why,

because the pair of Cunts masqueraded as life long "Reds" when all the where interested in was attacking the previous manager and massaging their Ego's instead of going after the proper Cunts,Hicks and Gillett

This forum is no worse for the amount of so called "Anti Benitez" posters then any other one, the difference here is they shout and abuse extremely loudly at every single opportunity and call a former successfull manager of ours a cunt, etc. Funny that for a footy forum called "The Liverpool Way" this minority couldn't be any further from The Liverpool Way if they tried. I can certainly say that Shanks would be spinning in his grave at the thought of a European Cup winning manager of ours been called some of the things he is called by some.

A very good example is the Benitez recent appearances on Football Focus. Most people didn't really care but said they'd watch this former manager interviewed out of an obvious interest anyway. Of course he said nothing really of any significant interest, and the only thing that really came out of it was a genuine and significant love of the club and the people. However, the small minority were mortally offended by the utter disgrace of this man having the temerity to comment on our club now he'd left, while laughably being delighted a few days later when the likes of Fowler is commenting on us. They come out with lines like "That cunt is gone so he should shut the fuck up about us and move the fuck on", only for a few days later to come out with lines like "ace, Fowler is on Sky", or "Did you here Thommo / Aldo / Rushy on TV earlier, fucking legend" and other such beauts of hypocritical nonsense.

There are a good few people on here who are very happy benitez is gone, but they carry themselves in an adult way and are able to criticise the former manager while absolutely accepting and appreciating his successes with us also, and while agreeing that he cocked up badly over the last season, are also able to see that he was certainly helped along the way by the worst owners imagineable.

Some can't though and will continue to spread the misinformation to make out Benitez did much more to damage the club then Hicks and Gillett, and that I have personally only seen on this forum, but it is by a small, but very loud minority.

They have a go at his every act like it was an act of treason. I remember someone on here making a post of how much of a disgrace it was that Benitez had the nerve to bring in the youth managers and have a go at them for poor performances while the senior team was in the middle of a bad run. There was silence on the thread initially, as I would imagine, like me, others were scratching there heads thinking "He's the manager and we've produced no youth talent in years, fucking right Benitez is giving them an earfull" yet to others who hated the man they now couldn't see beyond this hatred and were using anything to try and create an anti-Benitez slant while most were able to see it for what was.

I don't think it'll ever stop as there are some who are unable to see in any other colours then black and white, but, as I say, it is the same few names time and time again coming out with it, while the vast majority are able to see the positives of the tenure while also very aware of the negatives that, in the end, probably rightly cost him his job. The difference is we don't feel like we have to despise the man and call him every extremely abusive name under the sun to get across our point at almost every opportunity when the man is mentioned.

Excellent post, repped in spirit.

No Benitez isn't at the Club, but the poisonous little Cunt caused major unrest with his bile when Benitez was still our Manager.

The little cunt should have gone after the REAL villains instead of preaching to "cut them some slack"

Stringvest,

I have a bit of harmless banter with you on here from time to time but if you can't see through them pair of Little Christies your the most naive gullible parishioner to come out of St John's

We'll see how "brave" Bascombe is when it comes to having a go at Kenny, whether justified or not

Bascombe had an agenda against Benitez, but imo at least some of that was well justified. Benitez should not have been managing us anyway after last season - nothing to do with Bascombe, Purslow or Dale Winton. Bascombe has no axe to grind with Dalglish, and Dalglish would see him off in no time if he ever started.

Purslow is a Liverpool fan, probably for longer than most on here, and he I'm sure could see some of Benitez's behaviour for what it was. Benitez in turn suspected that Purslow was trying to get him out of the club, wanted to get rid of Purslow, and they were at each other's throats for the best part of a year. They both made massive errors of judgement, Purslow bringing Hodgson in, and Benitez siding with Hicks to try to get Purslow removed - how quickly we forget this in our haste to bring up the 'cut them some slack' quote. Just imagine where that would have left us if Benitez and Hicks had won out?

Purslow played his part in getting rid of Hicks and Gillett. As did Bascombe. The only person responsible for Benitez going was Benitez. If he had finished the season in 3rd place, he would not have gone anywhere, no matter how much Purslow wanted him out. His positives may have outweighed the negatives. As it was, coming in in 7th, alienating a large part of the players and other staff at the club was always going to outweigh (and throw severe doubt on) what he could still bring to the club.

It will all come out in the wash - I personally can't wait for KK's book once he retires, as there'll be some real revelations in there - but for now, the club is stable, pulling in one direction, yet there is a party of individuals conspiring to destabilise the club. None of them have got the best interests of the club at heart. And you have the nerve to call me gullible? You're being played like a penny kazoo mate and have been for years.

This is all a bit confusing from what I understood Stevie H and Atk are memebers of Kop Faithful. On the Kop Faithful website there are several quotes involving Purslow acting like he is tit he is The Kop Faithful - No to RBS refinance - Liverpool FC.

Ironically some of those quotes are obtained from the meetings with SOS yet we are expected to treat Purslow like some sort of martyr. Whilst hearing members of Kop Faithful chucking mud at a committee member who is doing his best to act in a transparent manner.

It is quite sad, as an impartial observer it makes some of the Kop Faithful guys come across as bitter, after all their hard work like SOS I know this is far from the truth.

These people trying to discredit Benitez at every turn are as guilty for what they're accusing him of.

Every whisper, every hint, every attempted smear isn't in the interests of the club or the support.

If these people are so fascinated with certain journalists or certain businessmen then they should really try harder to keep that to themselves. Even if they see themselves as some sort of 'in the know' type then again, they should try that little bit harder to curb the nonsense.

Just for the sake of decent discussion, if anything.

Nail. On. The. Head.

I don't even want to see it all coming out in the wash to be honest. Purslow behaved like a prick for sometime but he played a blinder in getting rid of C&A. And Benitez got himself sacked. To me, its clear cut.

Why do people still get wound up by this?

Purslow, Rafa, Hicks & Gillett and anyone else from that era don't even register with me anymore. lets focus on the present and future, you bunch of boring cunts. What is the point of going over all this old ground, apart from acting like twats???

Because my opinion needs to be forced on everyone else.

In all seriousness however.

Purslow is a fucking quality fella, he helped get rid oft the Yanks. He's just an all round legend.

Benitez on the other hand is sitting on a tv sofa on a Saturday hoping to be picked as manager by some.

Broughton took one look at Benitez and probably saw what a divisive figure he was.
