I think it might be too little, too late. After the West Ham win in November, we were 3 points behind and I was confident of making the ground up. Now, we're 11 points behind and it needs 4 wins just to recover the ground. The Blackburn and Wolves results have done an enormous amount of damage.

We need European football next year in some form. To that end, finishing 6th-7th will be acceptable, if not exactly what we're really looking for. At least we have most of the big games at home left, so that may help.

Thanks for coming.

Now let it be known the three non prophets have spoken it thus and all around it the laws of the nature of the future be formed and ripple across the dark matter unto our circumstance. We know from the annals of history that the non prophets would rise again they cannot be correct so we are hereby compelled not to threaten the laws of physics and so it must come to pass the fourth of firth.

Almost certain we'll get close to Spurs as they are guaranteed to drop points as the season drags on.

But think Chelsea will ultimately scrape 4th.

Anything is possible though, if we keep this winning streak going we'll get very close.[/quote

Tough run in for chelsea

The last game of the season for Chelsea is away at Everton. So Everton beat Chelsea to send us into the c/l and boo their own player who scores the winning goal.

Baines steps up,slots a freekick into the tops corner and signs for us in the summer.

Fantasy i know but it would be funny

One thing that really looks good for us, is the Chavs still have the Scum twice, that effectively wipes out the 6 points for us and our game more played . They have the Bitters twice and Newcastle, throw a few tasty derby games in and our chances look better every time .

Spurs still have a lot of relegation teams which are never bankers, and of course us at Anfield . We can still have a big say in all this yet .

We just got to keep going, we can afford 1 defeat, but anything more were fucked .

Tis true, United,Citeh and Tottenham all in the last 7/8 games is it?

They won't have it easy. I think whatever happens, we'll be close at the end.

Looking at the very first table in this thread (6 games ago, roughly) we are still pretty much the same distance off 4th - we were 11 points behind with a game in hand (so hypothetically 8 ), and now we are 6 points off 4th, but having played a game more (so conceivably 9).

The biggest change has been all the teams between us and the top 6 crapping out.

We play United, City and Tottenham at home, don't we? And Arsenal away.

Fourth might be a pipe dream for us, but we could have a huge say in who finishes where.

As long as we beat United, impressively, and remind old wino that his perch might be ours again soon is all I care...
