Early 20th century Finnish architect Alvar Aalto is one of the most influential figures in skateboarding history. He used concrete to create a kidney-shaped swimming pool at a house in Finland in 1938 which was seen by landscape architect Thomas Church. Church took the idea back to California where it became a go-to design in wealthy LA gardens.

There was a drought in the 70s and the pools were drained; young kids saw these curved forms and started skating on them.

I thought you were having me on, but amazingly it is true. The gent in question is 95 years old. If his father was still alive he'd be 170 years old, and if his grandfather was still alive he'd be 233 years old!

America is only 3 people old. (Not the natives).

Let that sink in.
