Souness is the right man for the job - no question

Stan Collymore has found his true home and will settle down and lead the line for 10 years

Roy Evans will be the new Paisley (OK, so I didn't really think that, but I thought he would have picked a few things up over the years)

Barnes, Beardsley and Aldo can't play together - it will be a disaster

Bringing Didi on is not going to get us back into this game - bring Cisse on FFS!

Up until a couple of years ago, I was guilty of letting myself get a bit carried away by all the hype and excitement of a new signing. However, that was killed off by (deep breath) Kewell, Cisse, Nando, Kuyt and many, many others. My view now is one of "Let's see what he does in a Red shirt".

I am wondering where the "Rafa would never sign Torres" and "Torres is an overrated waster" brigade are.

Fucking hell, are you seriously trying to score points over others for holding opinions which, in hindsight, were wrong? Seriously? Jesus.

*shakes head*

Rashid.

It's a real shame watching boyish enthusiasm atrophy like this, leaving nothing but a dry husk of "meh".

Agreed. There are certain players who would inevitably rekindle a sense of rabid anticipation, but I don't foresee any imminent arrivals of their type.

Back to the thread itself, I was very wrong about Ronaldo and likewise Rooney. I always felt both players were heavily over-hyped, but they've weighed in with the goals over the last two seasons and both are class acts. It's quite clear that the quality of the players around them has both taken the pressure off and also made it easier for them to shine.
